In Cua Lo ward, the storm caused big waves and high tides, causing severe damage to the sea wall and Binh Minh square. About 1,000 square meters of the square's surface was peeled off; in some places, the waves rolled and gouged it up to 0.5 meters deep. The eastern embankment was broken, and tiles were scattered everywhere. Many large concrete blocks were pushed away. In addition, the lighting system and landscape of the square were severely damaged.

Mr. Hoang Minh Tho, Deputy Head of the Economic - Infrastructure Department of Cua Lo Ward, said that in addition to Binh Minh Square, big waves have caused serious erosion of the Binh Minh Road park area with a length of 3.77km, width of 10-15m, depth of up to 1m; besides, 5 sections of sea dyke have collapsed and are severely damaged.
Currently, Cua Lo ward is researching and arranging funds to re-pave the square, and at the same time proposing that the province support the repair of tourism infrastructure.

In Hai Loc commune, the seawall section from Bai Lu area to Tien Phong hamlet also suffered serious erosion. Some sections of the wave-cut into the road, causing subsidence, so the local authorities had to erect warning signs.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thi, Chairman of Hai Loc Commune People's Committee, said that the embankment section from Bai Lu area to Tien Phong hamlet was invested to block waves and protect the coastal road connecting Nghi Yen commune to Nghi Tien commune (formerly). However, the destructive power of the storm was so great that many locations were eroded and seriously damaged. The commune has compiled statistics and reported to superiors to soon have a plan to invest in repairs and ensure safety for the people.
