Nghe An adjusts poverty reduction target by 2025

Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 3340/QD-UBND dated October 24, 2025 on adjusting the target of reducing the poverty rate in 2025, with detailed Table 15 attached for each locality in the province.

Specifically, the Provincial People's Committee adjusted the poverty reduction plan target for 2025 as assigned in Table 15 attached to Decision No. 3639/QD-UBND dated December 30, 2024. The adjustment is based on Resolution No. 104/NQ-HDND dated December 6, 2024 of the Provincial People's Council on the socio -economic development plan for 2025 and the proposal of the Department of Finance in Official Dispatch No. 7259/STC-KT dated October 21, 2025.

Table 15 clearly shows the expected reduction in percentage for each locality. Accordingly, the whole province aims to reduce the poverty rate by 1.0 to 1.5% in 2025. For the plains and urban areas with low poverty rates, the reduction rate is adjusted to suit actual conditions such as: Vinh City (old) about 0.02 to 0.04%, Thai Hoa Town (old) about 0.1 to 0.3%, Nam Dan District (old) about 0.1 to 0.2%. Meanwhile, the highland and border communes continue to set higher reduction rates to narrow the development gap such as Ky Son and Tuong Duong are both at about 4.0 to 5.0%, Quy Chau about 4.0 to 4.5%...

Notably, in particularly difficult mountainous communes, the reduction in the poverty rate in some places ranges from 3.5 to 6.7%, reflecting the great efforts of the locality in implementing the goal of sustainable poverty reduction, while also showing the need to synchronously mobilize support resources.

The Decision also assigns the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies, units and localities to monitor and evaluate the results of implementing the poverty reduction target; periodically summarize and report to the Provincial People's Committee (through the Department of Finance) on the implementation status and propose solutions to overcome difficulties. The Chief of the Provincial People's Committee Office, Directors of departments, heads of branches and sectors and Chairmen of Commune-level People's Committees are responsible for organizing the implementation of this Decision.
