On the morning of October 25, Ms. Le Thi Hoai Chung, Director of the Nghe An Department of Health , confirmed to Dan Tri reporter that the Department's specialized departments are urgently coordinating with Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital and relevant agencies to complete the dossier requesting recognition as war invalids for the medical staff injured while bravely protecting the patient from the aggressive attack of Ban Van Vy.
“We are preparing a dossier to request recognition of war invalids for the most serious case, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Trang. In addition, the Minister of Health has also decided to award certificates of merit to the brave medical staff in the recent incident,” said Ms. Chung.

The heartbreaking incident happened at around 10am on October 23rd, in room 304, Neonatal Department, Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.
The subject Ban Van Vy (born in 1996, from Bac Ninh, residing in Que Phong commune, Nghe An), while taking care of his wife who had just given birth to twins, suddenly used a fruit knife to attack many people in the room, injuring 7 victims.
Among the victims, nurse Nguyen Thuy Trang suffered the most serious injuries with 11 stab wounds, including 4 fatal wounds in the neck and chest, hemorrhagic shock, and right hemothorax. Ms. Trang underwent emergency surgery and is recovering.
