Every day, thousands of nurses in healthcare facilities nationwide tirelessly care for patients, from patient reception, emergency care, resuscitation, post-operative care, to community health work.

Particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, the nursing staff stood strong on the front lines, caring for patients under harsh conditions, facing risks while maintaining their medical ethics and sense of responsibility.

"Nursing is a profession of heart and compassion. Beyond physical care, nurses soothe emotional pain, spread positive energy, become listeners, sharers, companions, inspirers, and bridges of trust."

"Nurses are the ones who stay when patients are desperate, the ones who hold their hands tightly when they are in pain, and the ones who offer the first smile when they recover," Associate Professor Co said.

According to the Director of Bach Mai Hospital, in the era of booming digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI) and big data are changing the way treatment and healthcare are provided, making the role of nurses even more important.

Bach Mai Hospital is pioneering the comprehensive digital transformation, with nursing being a crucial pillar in improving the quality of care and patient experience. The hospital focuses on training, scientific research, and international cooperation in the field of nursing, aiming for a nursing model that is "Friendly - Dedicated - Thoughtful - Professional - Humane."

The Deputy Minister of Health expressed his wish for the Vietnam Nurses Association to continue its goal of improving the quality of nursing human resources; promoting scientific research and technology application; and building the image of Vietnamese nurses in the new era, who are not only professionally competent but also dedicated, compassionate, ethical, and know how to share and spread the humanitarian values of the healthcare sector.

Simultaneously, we will strengthen international cooperation, learn from experience, and leverage scientific, technical, and training support from regional and global nursing organizations to affirm the position of Vietnamese nursing in the era of global integration; and promote the role of policy critique.

Accordingly, the Association needs to proactively advise and propose appropriate policies, contributing to the improvement of the strategy for developing healthcare and universal health services.
