Every day, thousands of nurses in medical facilities nationwide are still diligently taking care of patients, from reception, emergency, resuscitation, post-operative care, to community health work.

In particular, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the nursing team has been resilient on the front line, caring for patients in harsh conditions, facing risks but still maintaining medical ethics and responsibility.

“Nursing is a profession of heart and compassion. Not only does it provide physical care, nurses also soothe mental pain, spread positive energy, become listeners, sharers, companions, inspirers and bridges of trust.

"Nurses are the ones who stay when the patient is desperate, the hands that hold the patient when he is in pain, and the first smiles when the patient recovers," Associate Professor Co said.

The Director of Bach Mai Hospital said that in the period of digital transformation explosion, artificial intelligence (AI) and big data are changing treatment and healthcare methods, the role of nurses is becoming more and more important.

Bach Mai Hospital is pioneering the implementation of comprehensive digital transformation, in which nursing is an important pillar to improve the quality of care and patient experience. The hospital focuses on training, scientific research and international cooperation in the field of nursing, aiming for the nursing model of "Friendly - Dedicated - Attentive - Professional - Humane."

The Deputy Minister of Health hopes that the Vietnam Nursing Association will continue to aim to improve the quality of nursing human resources; promote scientific research and technology application; build the image of Vietnamese nurses in the new era, not only good at expertise but also dedicated, compassionate, ethical, knowing how to share and spread the humanistic values of the health sector.

At the same time, promote international cooperation, learn from experiences, and seek scientific, technical, and training support from regional and international nursing organizations to affirm the position of Vietnamese nursing in the era of global integration; and promote the role of policy criticism.

Accordingly, the Association needs to proactively advise and propose appropriate policies, contributing to the completion of the strategy for health development and universal health care.
