In the requirements and tasks of building a "revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern" Vietnam People's Army in the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and Resolution No. 230-NQ/QUTW dated April 2, 2022 of the Central Military Commission, simulation technology demonstrates technical achievements and is at the same time a strategic solution, creating a foundation for fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education, training, coaching and combat readiness in the new situation.
Joining that flow, the scientific film "Application of simulation technology in the Army" produced by the People's Army Cinema recorded the journey of research, deployment and application of simulation technology in Vietnam.
Besides introducing outstanding achievements, the film clearly depicts the creativity and dedication of military scientists and engineers - those who are silently contributing to realizing the goal of building a modern army with Vietnamese intelligence.

The film opens with scenes of students practicing shooting at an electronic shooting range, tank crews practicing in a simulated cabin, and pilots practicing in the Su-30MK2 cockpit. All take place in a "virtual" environment but give a feeling of realism down to every detail.
Simulation technology has become a new training ground for soldiers, without gunfire but close to real combat, helping soldiers practice skills and bravery without being constrained by terrain, weather or safety risks.
Colonel Nguyen Trung Kien, Deputy Director of the Institute of Simulation Technology, Military Technical Academy, shared in the film: "We identify simulation technology as one of the core technologies, playing a key role in the digital transformation and innovation process of the army. This is not only a tool to support military training and coaching, but also a foundation to be ready to meet all requirements and tasks in the new situation."

The film has clarified the journey of overcoming many difficulties in researching and applying science in the military environment. From the electronic shooting range simulation system that won the VIFOTEX award in 2014, to the T-54B/T-55 tank combat crew simulation complex, or the Su-30MK2 flight command crew training complex, all show the persistent creativity of the military staff and engineers.
In addition to the rich amount of scientific material, the highlight of the film is also the passionate storytelling. Sharing about the process of researching reality and writing the script, Lieutenant Colonel Le Danh Truong, the film's scriptwriter, said: "Simulation technology is currently being widely and effectively applied in many fields, both inside and outside the military. There are many scientific topics to choose from, but we have considered very carefully, choosing the most impressive and typical works."

"What we hope is that through the language of cinema, the public will see that behind each simulated technology product is the passion, intelligence and dedication of military scientists. These are both scientific works and an affirmation: Our army is proactively approaching modern knowledge, constantly mastering science and technology to firmly protect the Fatherland in the new situation," said Lieutenant Colonel Le Danh Truong.

As for the director, Major Ha Xuan Truong, making a film about simulation technology was a special experience: "The biggest difficulty was how to make dry technical details become closer and more accessible to the audience. We tried to combine 3D images, real footage and concise commentary, to convey not only scientific information, but also to evoke pride and confidence in Vietnamese intelligence."
Director Ha Xuan Truong also shared: "The biggest advantage of the Film Crew is receiving close guidance from the Party Committee, the Board of Directors of the People's Army Cinema, the coordination, support and facilitation of agencies, units, scientists, military engineers, and those directly involved in the research of simulation technology. They have provided valuable materials, creating conditions for the film crew to film realistically in training rooms and simulated training grounds."

Talking about the challenges of the film, the director said that it was from the huge amount of specialized knowledge and many complex technical details. The film crew had to research carefully, then choose a way to express it through visual images and concise commentary, so that it was both scientific and easy to understand, suitable for both the general public and professional audiences.
The film does not stop at illustrating technology, but opens up strategic reflections. Simulation technology is seen as a "dual goal": ensuring the quality of training close to reality, while saving effort, time and costs. It allows commanders to practice and handle complex situations; allows soldiers to get acquainted with modern equipment early, forming a comprehensive, creative and coordinated thinking.

Colonel, Dr. Duong Minh Hai, Director of the Department of Military Science, Ministry of National Defense, also made comments in the film: "Simulation systems, the research results of Vietnam's military science industry over the past 10 years, have proven to be clearly effective: saving time, costs, not being affected by weather conditions and especially being able to deploy training immediately when required. This is the initiative and flexibility to quickly respond to the training and combat readiness requirements of the army."
With a coherent film rhythm, intuitive 3D images, and concise commentary, "Application of simulation technology in the army" is a special scientific film. Through the film, there is also a message: to protect the Fatherland in the new situation, in addition to will and spirit, soldiers need to be equipped with advanced knowledge and technology.
Simulation technology is a scientific achievement, demonstrating the belief and aspiration to modernize the army. On the smokeless training grounds, today's soldiers still forge their will, courage and knowledge to follow in the footsteps of their fathers. That is the message the film wants to send to today's and future generations: cherish Vietnamese intelligence, believe in the power of science and steadfastly follow the path of protecting the Fatherland with all their heart and mind.
