The Con Fruit Festival in Nghia Do is an important traditional cultural event, contributing to preserving and honoring the Tay ethnic identity in particular and the culture of the Northwest ethnic groups in general.
For the Tay people here, the colorful and delicately handcrafted Con fruits carry the belief and hope for a year of favorable weather, bountiful crops, and a prosperous life.

Mr. Vu Ngoc Quang, Deputy Head of the Relic Management and Tourism Development Board of Bao Yen District, said: This year's Con Fruit Festival is not only an opportunity for people to have fun and exchange, but also an opportunity to introduce the cultural beauty of the Tay Nghia Do people to tourists from all over, contributing to promoting the development of community tourism.
The highlight of this year's festival is the ball throwing competition between teams from communes and towns of Bao Yen district, representing several localities in Lao Cai province and neighboring provinces such as Yen Bai and Ha Giang .
In addition to the Con throwing competition, the festival also has many rich activities such as: Con fruit performance, beautiful Con fruit making competition, display of Con fruit samples from the Northern localities; cultural exchange, folk games (spinning, swallow playing...)...

The Con Fruit Festival in Nghia Do is the first large-scale festival about Con fruit to be held, so it has received the approval and active participation of the Tay community here. According to information from the Organizing Committee, preparations for the festival are basically complete, ready to welcome visitors and locals.
With careful preparation, the Nghia Do Con Fruit Festival in 2025 promises to be a unique cultural highlight during the April 30 and May 1 holidays, bringing many interesting experiences to visitors and creating more motivation for Bao Yen people to preserve and promote national cultural values in the new era.
