Thousands of people excitedly watch the sunflower garden in bloom at Saigon riverside park

According to Giao Thong Newspaper, the ceremony was attended by thousands of people and saw the brilliant sunflower fields along the Saigon River. Everyone was excited and took photos to check-in next to the colorful flower fields.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Tung, Chairman of Thu Duc City People's Committee, said that the Saigon Riverbank Park is a space to honor Thu Thiem land, a place to preserve traditional beauty, honor the achievements, and express gratitude to ancestors - those who have contributed to opening up land, exploiting and creating Thu Thiem land.

Saigon Riverside Park is not only a place to preserve and develop green space but also a connection between tradition and modernity and a place for people to have fun, meet and build friendship.

"We hope that every bush of grass and row of trees is the result of community love to create a green, beautiful and environmentally friendly space.

Therefore, every citizen needs to preserve, cherish and protect the Saigon River park so that it becomes a precious space and a place that the people of Ho Chi Minh City are always proud of and love," said Mr. Tung.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuoi, living in An Khanh ward, Thu Duc city, shared: "Since hearing the news that there will be a park along the Saigon river, my children have been looking forward to the opening day to see the largest sunflower field in the city.

The riverside park is cool and fresh. In the evening, you can leisurely stroll and watch Ba Son bridge under the sparkling lights. This Tet, Thu Duc residents have a place to enjoy and have fun comfortably without having to go far.

Saigon River Park is about 600m long and 40m wide, stretching from the wharf to the Saigon River tunnel. It is designed to be friendly to nature, with lots of trees, lawns, walking paths, seats, lighting systems... with an investment of more than 90 billion VND.

On the occasion of New Year 2024, the sunflower field will have 15,000 blooming plants and the second batch, about 20,000 sunflowers will bloom in time for Lunar New Year.

Saigon Riverside Park starts from Ba Son Bridge to Saigon River Tunnel, Thu Thiem Ward, Thu Duc City.

The park is nearly 20 hectares wide with 13 main items such as: Community activity area, multi-purpose community activity yard, sunflower field, aquatic floating raft chain, stone park, fountain...

In particular, the sunflower field with an area of over 5,200 square meters along the riverbank and behind An Khanh Temple is the highlight of the week of activities welcoming the New Year in Thu Duc City.

In addition, the park space has more than 200 trees, lawns, miniature landscapes, walking paths, seats, artistic lighting systems...

To serve the people, a parking lot of about 4,700 square meters, with a capacity of 40 cars and 1,200 motorbikes, is located near Ba Son Bridge. In addition, an additional parking lot with a capacity of about 600 motorbikes is also located near the Saigon River tunnel.

In addition, the 2024 New Year's Eve celebration week, themed Thu Duc Convergence, officially opened at Thu Thiem Riverside Park. This event takes place from December 23 to January 1, 2024.

In particular, during the New Year Countdown Fest event taking place on the evening of December 31 (next to The Metropole Thu Thiem project area), there will be a music festival, fireworks and other special art performances.
