Indian Foreign Minister visits Tran Quoc Pagoda

On the occasion of Indian Foreign Minister Subramanyam Jaishankar's official visit to Vietnam and co-chairing the 18th meeting of the Vietnam - India Joint Commission, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and Indian Foreign Minister Subramanyam Jaishankar visited and worshiped at Tran Quoc Pagoda (Tay Ho District, Hanoi).

Tran Quoc Pagoda has a long history and is famous in Vietnam, located on West Lake. Talking with the Indian Foreign Minister, Minister Bui Thanh Son said that today (October 15) is the first day of the Lunar calendar, so Tran Quoc Pagoda is very crowded with people coming to worship.

Minister Bui Thanh Son and the Indian Foreign Minister next to the stele recording the history of the Bodhi tree at Tran Quoc Pagoda. In 1959, Indian President Rajendra Prasad brought this Bodhi tree to Vietnam as a gift to President Ho Chi Minh . The tree was planted at Tran Quoc Pagoda and is now huge.
