More than a week ago, this young Filipino talent caused a stir in the football world when coach Hansi Flick sent him onto the field in the match against Viseel Kobe, during Barca's Asian tour.

With just over 10 minutes on the field, Dro Fernandez made a strong impression when scoring the winning goal 3-1 for Barca.

According to Sofascore, Dro Fernandez was given 7.1 points in that match, even higher than his fellow superstar Lamine Yamal (only 6.1 points).

Four days later, Dro Fernandez was benched in the win over FC Seoul. But he was then used again by coach Flick in the recent match against Daegu FC, even starting.

Against the opponent from Korea, the young Filipino talent played 45 minutes, contributing greatly to helping Barca decide the match early in the first half.

After just 27 minutes, Gavi (2 goals) and Lewandowski helped Barca lead 3-0, before Rashford and Toni Fernandez sealed a 5-0 victory for the home team in the second half.

Despite not directly contributing to the goals, Dro Fernandez still shined in the team's midfield. He had 2 successful dribbles, won 3/5 duels, and also launched 1 pass that led to a goal.

Although he was withdrawn after the break, this was still an impressive milestone for the young Filipino star. At the age of 17, he made his first appearance for Barca's first team, promising to be used by coach Flick next season.

Dro Fernandez was born on January 12, 2008 in the town of Nigrán, Pontevedra province in the Galicia region of Spain. He holds dual nationality, both Spanish and Filipino.

According to the transfer website Transfermarkt and Soccerzz's data system, Sarmiento's mother is Filipino and his father is Spanish. Dro Fernandez is fully qualified to play for the Philippines national team right now.

Of course, with his potential, Dro Fernandez could dream of playing for the Spanish national team. He has yet to speak out about his future choice for the national team.
