Dak Nong people are highly satisfied with the new rural area

People's satisfaction in building new rural areas is the content to evaluate, approve and recognize communes and districts that meet new rural standards.

Since the re-establishment of the province, especially in the 2021-2025 period, Dak Nong, like the whole country, has implemented the NTM program in the context of the pandemic and unstable agricultural prices. Meanwhile, the NTM criteria are becoming more and more difficult, ensuring and increasing people's satisfaction is not easy.

The Provincial People's Committee assessed that mobilizing capital for the new rural areas continues to be a challenge when the central budget direct investment is low. In the early years of the period, natural disasters, epidemics, especially Covid-19, and low agricultural prices have made the lives of rural people difficult, so mobilizing contributions and building the new rural areas will be difficult.

In that context, the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee have directed localities to mobilize people's strength in a moderate manner, in accordance with reality, not chasing after achievements but "forcing people" to voluntarily contribute. This has created a high level of satisfaction in building new rural areas.

According to Mr. Doan Gia Loc, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Krong No district, localities have done a good job of propagating and mobilizing people so that they understand correctly that the goal of the NTM is a people-led program, not an investment project.

Krong No district implements many activities to increase income for farmers.

At the same time, Krong No district mobilizes capital or integrates capital sources linked to urgent practical needs from villages, hamlets, and wards with clear figures. The district always pays attention to the ultimate goal of the new rural area, which is to improve the economic, cultural and spiritual life of the people through livelihood support and capital for people to eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, and increase income.

In many communes, schools, markets, village cultural houses, health stations, and schools have been completed and synchronized by people contributing labor and money, contributing to the improvement of the appearance of many rural areas.

In 2024, Krong No district will have 2 more communes meeting NTM standards, bringing the total number of communes meeting the standards to 8/11 communes, with an average of 17.36 NTM criteria per commune.

According to Mr. Dao Van Vy, Ninh Giang village, Buon Choah commune, Kong No district, he is very satisfied with the NTM program because his family knows all the work in the village and commune and gives advice on how to implement it effectively.

Over the years, his family has contributed their efforts through specific actions to improve the quality of each criterion. Specifically, his family contributed money to upgrade roads and halls, increased the application of science and technology to develop the family economy, and maintained environmental sanitation.

According to the leader of the Rural Development Department (Department of Agriculture and Environment), to ensure and increase people's satisfaction in building new rural areas, the province directs all levels, sectors, and organizations to determine specific plans and tasks associated with key issues, with priority given to remote areas and ethnic minority areas.

In particular, Party committees, authorities and organizations at all levels seek the best solutions to effectively solve major problems at the grassroots level, especially improving income, cultural life, spirit and health for people.

For infrastructure works with simple, uncomplicated techniques and with sample designs such as rural roads, intra-field canals, village cultural houses, localities proactively decentralize and delegate authority to the local community to organize and implement them in order to mobilize the active participation and contribution of the people; at the same time, maximize the role of the people as the main subjects in building the new rural areas.

Regarding this content, according to the leader of the Fatherland Front of Dak Nong province: The collection of people's opinions in building new rural areas has been systematically implemented by the Fatherland Front at the grassroots level. In recent years, communes that have met the standards have achieved a high rate of people's satisfaction, from 80% or more, many communes have reached 98% satisfaction.

This result demonstrates the engagement and concern for the final effectiveness of Party committees and organizations at all levels in focusing on solving urgent issues at the grassroots level. Specifically, key criteria such as transportation, irrigation, increasing income for farmers, and protecting the rural environment.
According to the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Nong, all levels, sectors and organizations have concretized the motto "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect" according to the ideology of "taking people as the root" of President Ho Chi Minh .

All work of the new rural area is discussed and agreed upon by the people. When the people support, no matter how difficult it is, it can be done. Mobilizing the people's strength in moderation creates a solid foundation for activities to improve the quality of each criterion. Every year, the provincial levels, sectors and organizations commend and reward people for contributing to encouraging the spirit of the people in the new rural area.

The public service activities of cadres, civil servants and public employees to increase people's satisfaction have focused on quickly, neatly and effectively resolving the legitimate and legal requests of the people.

By May 2025, Dak Nong province had 45/60 communes meeting the NTM standards, accounting for 75% (exceeding the assigned target by 3.3%); 9/45 advanced NTM communes, accounting for 20% (exceeding the assigned target by 3.7%); 2/45 model NTM communes, accounting for 4.4% (exceeding the assigned target by 2.1%); Gia Nghia city was recognized by the Prime Minister for completing the task of building NTM in 2020, and is still maintaining the results; Dak R'lap, Cu Jut districts and Dak Mil district all had 100% of communes meeting the standards and basically completing the district-level criteria. Thus, Dak Nong has exceeded the plan assigned by the Central Government on building NTM by the end of 2025.
