Today, people and tourists eagerly flocked to these two squares to attend an event organized for the first time by Ha Long City, which is the hot air balloon festival with the theme "Heritage City - Colors of Ha Long" in 2024.

This is also an event to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; 30 years since Ha Long Bay was first recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage (December 1994).

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Son, Vice Chairman of Ha Long City People's Committee, said: At the festival, there are 20 hot air balloons of different colors and sizes, including two large hot air balloons for experience.

The highlight of this event is that about 600 visitors will experience free hot air balloon flights.

"The first hot air balloon festival was organized by Ha Long City with the goal of creating many attractive tourism products in the area to attract tourists, while widely promoting the image of the heritage and cultural city and the people of Ha Long, creating a ripple effect for the next festivals," said Mr. Son.

A unique art performance: Using a hot air balloon to carry the sacred national flag (100 square meters wide) flying over October 30 Square to celebrate National Day September 2 officially opened the festival.

Within the framework of the festival, many diverse activities took place such as hot air balloon flying, visiting inside hot air balloons, hot air balloon lantern night, hot air balloon ground decoration and parachute performance (Paramotor).

"Looking down from the hot air balloon, you can see how strongly Ha Long City has developed. I am lucky and proud to be the one who gets to experience the hot air balloon for free," said Mr. Hung.

Mr. Hoang Ngoc Nam, the unit participating in organizing the Ha Long hot air balloon festival 2024, shared: Hot air balloons and paragliders are both flying devices in the sky, completely dependent on the weather. Winds above level 3 cannot fly and must be postponed. They will fly when the wind is calmer.

"To avoid the situation where tourists with invitation tickets cannot fly due to bad weather, the unit has requested the Organizing Committee to arrange an additional day on September 3 to make up for the flight if there is a weather problem and the guests cannot fly," said Mr. Nam.

Many people eagerly await the moment to get on the hot air balloon.
