(NLDO) - On December 22, metro line No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) officially opened, attracting the attention of thousands of people.

However, with so many people flocking to experience the metro, especially at Ben Thanh station, congestion and overload have occurred.

At Ben Thanh underground station, there were about 300 people lining up to board the train, everyone was excited and taking souvenir photos. Although the operators quickly guided and directed people to reduce congestion, the atmosphere was still quite tense.

According to a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board, Metro Line 1 will operate free of charge for the first 30 days. To avoid congestion at stations and to have a more convenient experience, the Management Board representative recommends that people choose less crowded times to use the service. Each day, the metro will run 200 trips, with a frequency of 5 to 10 minutes per trip, so people do not need to rush and can leisurely experience it.

In particular, the Urban Railway Management Board also sent a request to passengers when using the service, especially at Ben Thanh Station. "On the first day of opening, Ben Thanh Station is currently overloaded. To avoid long queues and have a comfortable trip, we respectfully ask people to choose other stations or travel on other days," said a representative of the Management Board.

In addition, the company also calls on people to maintain order, not to jostle and push, and to give way to people with disabilities, the elderly and children, to ensure the safety of all passengers throughout the experience.

With the convenience and modernity of the first metro line in Ho Chi Minh City, this will certainly be an important means of transportation in the future, contributing to reducing traffic congestion and improving the quality of life for city residents.
