Principal Nguyen Duc Trung shares his views on recognizing AI in research as a co-author

At the discussion, Ms. Chu Hong Hanh, Director of the Innovation Department of Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB ), said that businesses are applying AI (artificial intelligence) quite deeply in data processing. AI is being applied strongly and is present in almost all fields, but we should not worry too much about it replacing humans because humans are still the most important.

The Chairman of the Vietnam Blockchain Association, Mr. Phan Duc Trung, gave the productivity if the staff knows how to apply AI. For the same job, if a person handles it in the traditional way, it takes 14 days, but if the staff knows how to use AI, it only takes 3 days. In programming companies, 25% of the code is handled by AI, thereby reducing staff and salary funds.

At the seminar, many students wondered whether AI should be applied in learning, research and exams...? Ms. Chu Hong Hanh said that if the application of AI brings higher quality and efficiency, then why not take advantage of it. Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Principal of Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that in the digital age, people must really know how to apply AI to create better products. Technology changes everything, if human resources cannot adapt, they will be eliminated.

According to the Principal of Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, digital human resources need many skills but there are 4 most important skills that must be equipped, including: technology skills, English (later Chinese can be added), AI training skills, and good expertise. He also said that Vietnam is a country with a very high AI application rate but AI development is still low, one of the reasons is that AI development requires a very large cost.

Regarding whether or not Ho Chi Minh City Banking University will recognize students using AI in research and exams, the school's leaders said they really want to but are afraid of "going against the tide" because no other school has recognized it yet. Principal Nguyen Duc Trung said that AI is a non-biological production force, so in research, co-authorship can be recorded including the author's name + AI.
