Residents of Rach Gia ward handed over a python.
Ms. Doan Thi Hong Lien, residing at 194 Mac Cuu Street, Rach Gia Ward ( An Giang Province), stated that on the evening of December 14th, her family spotted a python crawling across the road.
After learning that the python is a wild animal listed in Vietnam's Red Book, Ms. Lien reported it and voluntarily handed it over to the forest rangers.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Phong, Deputy Team Leader of the Mobile Forest Ranger and Forest Fire Prevention and Fighting Team, said that the unit had received the python and handed it over to the Hon Me Wildlife Rescue Station to monitor its health and release it back into its natural environment.
The voluntary surrender of endangered and rare animals by the public is highly commendable as it contributes to the protection of wildlife, the conservation of biodiversity, and natural ecosystems.
