This year, there are more than 10 pink tangerine orchard attractions in Lai Vung and Hoa Long communes, operating from now until the Lunar New Year of the Horse. Each entrance ticket costs 50,000 VND for adults and 30,000 VND for children. Visitors can enjoy pink tangerines, tour and take photos in the orchards, experience boating, walk across monkey bridges, and savor many local specialties of the Mekong Delta.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thom, from Phu Tho commune, Dong Thap province: “The first time I came to the Lai Vung tangerine orchard, I was immediately struck by the abundance of large tangerines, which looked beautiful in photos. I even took many videos in the orchard.”
Pink tangerines are difficult to cultivate, requiring advanced techniques; they only bear fruit once a year, harvested during the Lunar New Year. With guidance from the local government, in addition to selling tangerines, farmers also earn extra income from developing eco- tourism services in the orchards.

During its peak development period, Dong Thap had over 1,000 hectares of mandarin orange orchards. However, yellow leaf disease and root rot caused significant damage to orchards that were bearing fruit. In recent years, the locality has implemented a project to conserve mandarin orange orchards. Currently, many orchards have recovered and are developing well, with a total area of over 200 hectares.
