An Giang held a rally to respond to the National Action Month on Population and Vietnam Population Day on December 26th.

On the morning of December 15th, the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for Population and Development Affairs of An Giang province organized a rally to respond to the National Action Month on Population and Vietnam Population Day (December 26th) in 2025.

Attending the ceremony were Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province and Head of the Steering Committee for Population and Development of An Giang province; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Quang Hien, Director of the Department of Health of An Giang province; members of the Steering Committee for Population and Development of An Giang province; and 500 delegates, including civil servants, employees, citizens, armed forces personnel, and students.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of An Giang province, delivered a speech at the ceremony.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy emphasized that in recent years, the province's population and development work has achieved many encouraging results, making an important contribution to the province's socio -economic development.

In the new context, population work is no longer limited to controlling the size and rate of population growth, but has shifted its focus to comprehensively and synchronously addressing issues related to population size, structure, distribution, and quality, placing them in an organic relationship with socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security.

To continue building on the achievements already made and successfully implement the goals in the new phase, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy requested that all levels, sectors, and localities strengthen the leadership of Party committees and authorities on population work; incorporate population and development goals into important contents of local socio-economic development strategies and plans; build models and clubs to support young families in having two children, building happy families, caring for the health of the elderly, and reproductive health of adolescents/youth; consolidate, strengthen, and promote the role of the network of population officials at all levels, especially the grassroots collaborators, the core force directly bringing population policies to each household and each citizen.

“The National Action Month on Population and Vietnam Population Day on December 26th are important highlights of the year for us to act together. I deeply believe that, with the determination of the entire political system and the unity of the people, the population work of An Giang province will continue to achieve even greater achievements, contributing to building An Giang into an increasingly prosperous, civilized, and sustainably developed province,” emphasized Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy.

Following the launching ceremony, the forces marched in support of the National Action Month on Population (December) and Vietnam Population Day (December 26) in 2025.
