On the evening of March 9 (Vietnam time), the 71st Miss World 2024 final took place with the participation of beauties from 112 countries and territories. Representing Vietnam is Huynh Nguyen Mai Phuong, born in 1999, from Dong Nai .
The event was held at the World Jio Convention Center, Mumbai, India with a capacity of over 10,000 people. Former Miss World 2013 Megan Young and Indian director Karan Johar took on the role of MC.
The Miss World 2024 finale kicked off with a performance by contestants in unique and novel national costumes. Afterwards, the beauties appeared in gorgeous evening gowns, meticulously designed with delicate lace details, creating a splendid and luxurious look.
Miss Mai Phuong entered the Top 40 thanks to winning the Multimedia Challenge earlier. She is 1m70 tall and has measurements of 77-62-90cm. The beauty is studying English at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City. Meanwhile, contestants from the Philippines and Thailand were highly rated by beauty sites but did not make the list.
However, facing many strong opponents, Mai Phuong stopped at Top 40, when the organizers announced Top 12.
There was no competition from the Top 12 to choose the Top 8. The strong candidates continued to appear in the Top 8, respectively: Brazil (Leticía Frota), Trinidad and Tobago (Aché Abrahams), Botswana (Lesego Chombo), Uganda (Hannah Tumukunde), Czech Republic (Krystyna Pyszková), England (Jessica Gagen), India (Sini Shetty), Lebanon (Yasmina Zaytoun).
The Top 8 then participated in the behavioral round. While waiting for the judges to evaluate the Top 8, the Humanitarian Award was given to the person who brought change and welfare to the community. And this year, this award was given to Ms. Nita Mukesh Ambani - a famous Indian businesswoman.
And then, the Top 4 also called the names of beauties from: Trinidad and Tobago, Botswana, Czech Republic and Lebanon. The host Miss India caused regret when stopping at Top 8. After that, the Top 4 competed in presentation.
Finally, Krystyna Pyszková, a beauty from the Czech Republic, won the final. She is 1m8 tall and is said to have a doll-like beauty similar to Miss World 2023 Karolina Bielawska. The 24-year-old beauty graduated from Karl University in Prague with a degree in Law and is studying for an MBA in Austria.
Miss Czech Republic also impressed in the question and answer session. When asked: “What is one issue related to women’s health care that you would like to talk about?”, Krystyna Pyszková answered: “I would talk about the lack of empathy, especially for women from poor areas. They hesitate to talk about their own health and their own health. I want independent women to be brave and speak up about this.”
