Sharing on social media platforms, many iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air owners have encountered scratches on the shell after only a short time of use. The scratches appear on the back and the protruding island cluster to contain the device's camera.

Some people have reported that using the MagSafe wireless charger leaves a visible mark on the back of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air. Even the wireless charging pad can scratch the back of the product.
Many users shared on social networks images showing the back of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air being scratched while they were on display inside the store.

Initially, many people said they only thought that this scratch appeared on the display product because too many people tried it, until the scratches also easily appeared on their products, they raised questions about the durability of the new generation iPhone series.
“I just opened the box and used it for a short time, but there are already some scratches on the camera cluster. I use the phone very carefully, it seems that these scratches appeared because I put the phone down on the table,” a user of social network X shared about the problem with his iPhone 17 Pro Max.
“After using it for a while, I realized that the iPhone Air is not only fragile but also very easy to scratch. Maybe you should use a protective case for this phone,” another user of social network X shared.
The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max duo have a unibody aluminum shell, while the iPhone Air has a titanium frame for increased durability. However, the fact that scratches appeared early on the product suggests that the durability of the product may not be as advertised by Apple.

In fact, this is not the first time Apple has been complained by users about scratches appearing on iPhones.
Two years ago, on the first day of selling the iPhone 15 series, many users reported that their products had scratches as soon as they opened the box. Previously, in 2012, a series of users when opening the box of the newly launched iPhone 5 were also very upset when they saw dents and scratches along the product's frame.
Apple has not yet commented on the fact that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air's shells are easily scratched.
