Mothers put on makeup during labor to look beautiful when their baby is born

Despite the pain of labor contractions, a mother in China filmed herself applying foundation, lip gloss and false eyelashes in order to look beautiful for the arrival of her baby.

On the Douyin platform, a video by a woman surnamed Jia, from Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, China, is trending, attracting many views and comments.

The video shows a woman putting on makeup while enduring labor contractions. Despite the difficulty, she persevered, occasionally stopping to take deep breaths.

The video's caption reads: "Labor contractions have started, so I had to quickly put on makeup to meet my baby."

She completes a full makeup routine, including foundation, concealer, eyeliner, and false eyelashes.

Despite the pain of labor, Jia still tried to put on beautiful makeup.

While applying blush, Jia struggled to control the pain of applying blush and encouraged herself by saying, "As long as I can move, I will continue to put on makeup. Blush is a must!"

As the labor pains increased, even with a family member nearby to comfort her, Jia persisted in continuing to apply false eyelashes.

While applying her eyelashes, she declared: " A strong Chinese woman never backs down, false eyelashes are essential to beauty!".

The look was completed with lip gloss, and Jia proudly said: "Glossy lips create the most youthful look! I am the most beautiful mother-to-be in China."

In an interview with the media, Jia explained that she wanted to welcome her baby in the best way.

"I wore makeup during the entire transition because I wanted to look beautiful. I planned early to welcome my baby with the best appearance and spirit. This was not a spur-of-the-moment decision, but it required real motivation to endure all the pain," Jia said.

Jia stressed that makeup reflects a person's state of mind and positivity. She also advised other mothers to avoid wearing makeup during labor because doctors rely in part on facial cues to effectively monitor a patient's health.
