The Indian boxer won an absolute victory in the semi-finals of the flyweight (51kg) category of the 2019 Asian Women's Boxing Championship. Facing an opponent with a series of great achievements like Nikhat Zareen, it is predicted that the Vietnamese boxer will have a very difficult final match.
However, the first half of the match saw Nguyen Thi Tam completely confident. The Vietnamese fighter showed that through her proactive attacking style right from the first minutes. Nikhat Zareen temporarily had the upper hand when winning this round through direct attacks.

After a hard-fought match, Nikhat Zareen won the final match against the Vietnamese boxer. Nguyen Thi Tam had a regrettable loss when she only lost to her opponent by 1 point.
Although she did not win the final match, Nguyen Thi Tam made history in Vietnamese boxing by becoming the first boxer to win a silver medal at the world women's boxing championship, and also secured a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics.
