The event is not only a testament to the progress and quality of the national key project but also an affirmation of a modern aviation space where passenger experience is put first.

From the start of construction to the commissioning of the project, the “Construction of Passenger Terminal T3 - Tan Son Nhat International Airport” project took only 20 months. The inauguration ceremony and commissioning of the project will take place on April 30, 2025 - on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

This is the result of the tireless efforts of the leadership team and all staff involved in the project, from design, construction to testing; ensuring the quality of the project according to the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization ICAO.

Immediately after the first passengers arrived and departed from Terminal T3 – Tan Son Nhat International Airport, many positive feedbacks were recorded.

Most passengers expressed surprise at the spacious, airy space; the check-in areas were scientifically arranged, making movement easy and quick.

Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) said that it will continue to listen to feedback from passengers and operators to further improve the operating process, ensuring that Passenger Terminal T3 - Tan Son Nhat International Airport is not only an air transit point but also a symbol of development, bringing outstanding and memorable experiences to each passenger on their journey.

The project “Construction of Passenger Terminal T3 - Tan Son Nhat International Airport” includes the main items: Passenger terminal, high-rise parking lot combined with non-aviation services, overpass system in front of the terminal and aircraft parking lot with a total investment of 10,990 billion VND. The capital to implement the project is mobilized from ACV's equity capital (70%) and commercial loans (accounting for 30%).

The Passenger Terminal project has a scale of 1 basement and 4 floors above ground, with a total floor area of 112,500 m2.

The terminal has a linear shape similar to the existing terminal, designed into 2 separate departure and arrival levels, with 90 traditional airline check-in counters, 20 automatic bagdrop counters and 42 check-in kiosks, 27 aircraft gates (including 13 telescopic gates and 14 bus gates), 6 departure baggage handling islands and 10 arrival baggage return islands, and 25 passenger security control gates.

In particular, Terminal T3 is designed with 8 security control gates and a separate area to serve VIP, business class and priority guests.

The high-rise parking complex combined with non-aviation services is a complex of 2 basements and 4 upper floors with a total floor area of 130,000 m2, which is a parking lot, shopping center, hotel, and restaurant serving passengers.

The elevated road system at the two station levels includes: the 2nd floor has a scale of 2-3 lanes, each lane is 3.5m wide; the 3rd floor has a scale of 2-5 lanes, each lane is 3.5m wide.

The aircraft parking project includes expanding the parking lot in front of the terminal with an area of 4,600 m2 and a lighting system to serve aircraft operations, capable of handling all types of code C and code E aircraft.

Passenger Terminal T3 – Tan Son Nhat International Airport deploys many modern aviation technologies, puts passengers at the center, focuses on the passenger experience from check-in to boarding.

Specifically, the ACV Self services system will support passengers to self-check in at the shared Check-in Kiosk and passengers to self-check in their baggage, then can automatically board the plane via the E-gate device.

This is a technology currently being applied at major smart airports in the world such as Incheon T2 (Korea), Changi T4 (Singapore). ACV Self services is considered to contribute significantly to improving passenger experience, saving time, optimizing floor space, and freeing up queues so that airport staff have time to provide other better support services.

Especially in the check-in process for passengers on domestic flights, the application of electronic chip-based CCCD cards and facial recognition (Facial ID) helps reduce the risk of using fake documents, automatically detects and prevents banned passengers, and helps reduce overload at security control areas, compared to previous manual checks.
