Pavel Durov, founder and CEO of messaging app Telegram, shocked the public in August 2024 when he revealed a surprising piece of information: he had more than 100 biological children, even though he had never been married.
The billionaire's decision to donate sperm came on the advice of a doctor, who stressed Durov's "civic duty" amid a "shortage of high-quality sperm donors."
Following this advice, Durov began anonymously donating sperm to infertile couples.

Thanks to this donation, Durov's sperm has helped him become the biological father of more than 100 children in 12 different countries. Not only that, his sperm is also being frozen at a number of clinics to continue supporting infertile families.
Notably, Durov also covers all costs for women who want to undergo artificial insemination using their own sperm.
In addition to these biological children, Durov also has 6 more children naturally with 3 different partners.
After the shocking revelation, the question of the billionaire's inheritance rights to his biological children has been raised. Recently, Pavel Durov has officially answered this question.
In an interview with French magazine Le Point , Durov confirmed that he will leave all his assets to his children. "I want to make it clear that I make no distinction between my children. There are children who were conceived naturally and children born through my sperm donation. They are all my children and have the same rights," Pavel Durov shared.
Regarding the timing of the inheritance, he said: "I recently wrote a will and decided that my children will not have access to my assets until 30 years have passed, from today." Of course, to inherit this huge fortune, the children need to take a test to prove their bloodline with Durov.
Notably, since the identities of the sperm donor and recipient are always kept secret, Durov said he would make his DNA public. The purpose is to allow his biological children to find each other, and to avoid the situation where they accidentally fall in love or marry each other without knowing about their blood relationship.
Pavel Durov was born on October 10, 1984 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. He graduated from Saint Petersburg State University with a bachelor's degree in linguistics.
In 2006, Durov co-founded VKontakte (VK), dubbed the "Facebook of Russia" and the most popular social network in the country. However, in 2014, he left VK due to conflicts with shareholders, earning a large sum of money from selling shares.
In 2013, Pavel Durov and his brother Nikolai Durov launched the free messaging app Telegram. This app is famous for its superior security and encryption, is not monitored by any government , and quickly became popular globally with hundreds of millions of users every month.
Durov is known for being a private person who frequently travels between countries. He said he likes to live alone and does not want to get married.
According to Forbes magazine, Pavel Durov's fortune is currently estimated at $17.1 billion.
