Tay Son Dynasty

The National Political Publishing House has just published "The Tay Son Dynasty" by writer Quach Tan and his son, author Quach Giao. The book offers a new perspective and information, differing from previous sources. The book is the result of 50 years of research, collection, and study of historical events concerning the Tay Son Dynasty. According to the author, this cannot be called a history book because it is merely a systematically organized collection of selected materials on what the writer deemed worthy of being recorded.

While other books about the Tay Son dynasty focus primarily on Emperor Quang Trung, this book includes additional information about the civil and military officials who helped the emperor establish his dynasty. Besides new details, the book also contains different information, such as the names of the parents of the three brothers Nguyen Nhac, Nguyen Hue, and Nguyen Lu; the identification of Admiral Tran Quang Dieu's hometown; and the connections between Tay Son generals like Bui Thi Xuan and Ngo Van So, Admiral Dang Van Long and Dang Tien Dong...
