Children's readers are no stranger to writer Ly Lan through her translation of the Harry Potter series. However, not only does she translate, writer Ly Lan also writes children's literature. The novella Autobiography of a Pig (Tre Publishing House) was selected by the Jury of the De Men Children's Literature Award (organized by the Sports & Culture Newspaper) to receive the De Men Knight Award, the grand prize of the De Men Award. When writing this work, writer Ly Lan said she wanted to write so that readers would become more mature when reading the work.
Associate Professor, Dr. Van Gia, a member of the Jury, commented: "The story is written very professionally. The character set-up (both animals and humans) is quite interesting. The plot is clear, with many surprises; the language is refined." Poet Tran Dang Khoa, Chairman of the Jury, commented: "The advantage of this work is that the author understands the life and lifestyle of pigs and many other animals very well, so it is very vivid and very real. The issue raised is very good: the desire to live freely, not wanting to be a pet... This is the most outstanding work among the works submitted to this year's competition."

Poet Lu Mai's family has 2 people who received the Cricket Award.
Looking back at children's literature as well as the current Cricket Awards, poet Tran Dang Khoa wishes that there would be newspapers that regularly dedicate separate pages to children's literature. He also hopes that authors writing for children will have more works.
Writer May, who received the Jury Prize, said that for her, writing for children is also writing for her children. The book Banh mi goi xinh was inspired by the name of May's second child - Banh Mi. The book Santa Claus and the Adventures of New Shoes was also born on the journey of teaching children about giving love. "Until now, we have only been used to Santa Claus giving, but here I want him to also be the one receiving. I want to tell my children that we are not only the ones who receive forever, but also the ones who give, love will revolve like that forever," May said about the literary ideas that kept arising on the journey of motherhood.
Writer Lu Mai is an interesting case of the award. This year, Lu Mai received the Cricket Aspiration Award. Last year, her daughter, Doan Lu Thuy Phuong, also received the Cricket Award. Regarding "nurturing" a young writer, Lu Mai believes that it takes a lot of sincerity and care. "Without enough sincerity and care for children, it is very difficult for them to come up with a work, or at least to come up with a confession. Nowadays, there are many distractions and concerns in life, but in the past, when they left kindergarten, they were already integrated with nature. Who can give back to nature like that now? So, if parents can learn to play with children more, children will share more. Only when children are ready to share can they create works," Lu Mai said.
- The Cricket Knight Award was given to writer Ly Lan for Autobiography of a Pig (Tre Publishing House) and her contributions to children's literature throughout her life and career.
- The Cricket Aspiration Award was given to 5 works, including: The Adventures of Cricket Ut (a 4-volume comic book series by LinhRab, Kim Dong Publishing House); Under the Blue Sky (a novel manuscript by Lu Mai); Mysterious Library (a comic book manuscript by Le Sinh Hung, 14 years old); Where do you come from, Moon? (song by Thai Chi Thanh, based on the poem by Tran Dang Khoa) and Secret Little Kingdom (poetry by La Thanh Ha, illustrated by Nhu Quynh, Hanoi Publishing House, Crabit Kidbooks).
- The De Men Jury Award was given to 2 authors. Writer May was awarded with a series of children's books including Banh mi goi xinh (drawn by Thu Cao) and Ong Claus Santa and the adventure of the new shoes (drawn by Thao Vo) in the series Vuon dap tam hon (Kim Dong Publishing House). Dang Chuong Ngan was awarded with the manuscript of the long story Con monkey vang Bap o Ru Mo.
