Synchronize technical measures, strictly manage production operations
In order to proactively respond to harsh weather conditions, especially during the Northeast monsoon season that lasts from late September to April every year, the Director of Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant has just issued a document directing all affiliated units to urgently deploy measures to strengthen environmental protection, maintain safe and efficient operations, and strictly comply with the provisions of the law as well as of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN).

Accordingly, all units in the Factory must strengthen propaganda and raise awareness and responsibility of officers, employees and workers in performing environmental protection tasks, tighten operational discipline, proactively control and promptly handle risks of incidents. Department leaders are fully responsible before the Factory and before the law if environmental violations occur within the scope of their management.
Notably, the Factory requires stable operation and strict control of exhaust gas, wastewater, and cooling water treatment systems, and continuous maintenance of automatic environmental monitoring equipment, ensuring technical parameters at the prescribed frequency. At the same time, areas at risk of dust emission such as coal ports, coal warehouses, ash and slag storage areas, etc. are closely monitored, with forces regularly deployed to spray mist, keep moist, cover, and clean up to minimize dust emission to the surrounding environment.
Community and workshop coordination, improving environmental responsibility
At the Fuel Workshop, inspection, maintenance and cleaning of the port area, conveyor belts and coal warehouses have been enhanced. The unit has proactively implemented technical solutions such as closing the coal warehouse doors, operating the wind-proof wall misting system, covering the surface of unused coal with plastic nets and proposing to install additional surveillance cameras to visually monitor high-risk areas.

The Operation Workshop is assigned to strengthen supervision of ash silo area, slag yard, crusher, regularly operate dust suppression system, water to keep moist and require ash transport vehicles to cover, wash wheels, avoid ash spillage on the road.
Along with that, the Chemical Workshop focuses on strictly controlling the quality of input coal and output wastewater, regularly cleaning the chemical storage area, ensuring absolute safety for workers and the surrounding environment.
Regarding the Technical and Safety Department, the Factory assigned research and integration of meteorological and environmental monitoring parameters to provide early warning of dust emission risks, while also replacing windproof steel mesh panels, checking and repairing dust suppression spray guns to ensure effective and continuous operation.
The Department of Administration and Labor is also required to step up communication work, closely coordinate with the authorities and people of Vinh Hao commune, provide transparent information on the environmental protection work of the Factory, and organize community activities such as cleaning, planting trees, and improving the local landscape.
The Factory Director emphasized that in the coming time, all officers and employees need to strictly comply with environmental protection regulations, not to let incidents or violations occur during the production process, and at the same time continue to research and propose advanced technical solutions, aiming at the goal of operating the Factory safely, stably, green - clean - sustainably.
According to the leader of Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant, in the coming time, the unit will continue to implement the green transformation roadmap, increasing investment in automation technology to monitor dust, emissions and wastewater. The plant aims to become a typical model of "clean operation, sustainable development" among the thermal power plants under EVN, contributing to ensuring national energy security along with environmental protection.
