
The second draft of the decree detailing the Law on Teachers states that among the policies to attract, support, and utilize teachers, teachers are entitled to health check-ups and treatment for occupational diseases as prescribed by law. Teachers who are eligible for hazardous and strenuous work allowances are entitled to health check-ups at least twice a year.
Teachers who teach Vietnamese to ethnic minority children before they enter first grade, and teachers who teach combined classes of two different levels, are entitled to an allowance of 50% of their current salary per teaching hour. Teachers who teach combined classes of three different levels are entitled to an allowance of 75% of their current salary per teaching hour. The allowance stipulated in this clause is paid at the end of the school year and is not used for calculating social insurance or health insurance benefits.
Teachers of Vietnamese language to preschool children who are from ethnic minority groups are entitled to allowances as prescribed. Teachers working in ethnic minority areas, mountainous regions, border areas, islands, and areas with particularly difficult socio -economic conditions who do not have housing are entitled to rent public housing according to the provisions of the Housing Law, or are provided with collective housing by the managing agency or educational institution.
