Regarding the programs, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television Do Duc Hoang said: The special event that is awaited by people nationwide and international friends - the national celebration, parade, and march on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day will be broadcast live on VTV1 from 7:00 a.m. on April 30 and from 6:30 a.m. on VTVgo, conveying the heroic atmosphere from Le Duan Street, Bach Dang Riverside Park, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, Le Loi Street - Ho Chi Minh City.
What makes Vietnam Television's unique and distinctive mark in the country's important events are special programs that combine ideological and political depth and delicate artistic emotions, which are meticulously and methodically produced, and are increasingly upgraded in scale, technology, and form of expression. The highlight is the TV bridge "Vang mai khuc khai hoan" broadcast live at 20:10 on April 27 on VTV1 channel. The program is an artistic epic performed at the following locations: Thong Nhat Park (Hanoi), Hien Luong Flag Tower, Hien Luong - Ben Hai National Special Relic Site (Quang Tri) and Saigon Riverside Park, Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City).
The art program "The Country Full of Joy" will be broadcast live at 8:10 p.m. on April 20 on VTV1, bringing together more than 1,000 artists and soldiers. With 22 musical and dance works, content related to historical periods of the Vietnamese nation, the program honors the achievements of our ancestors, arouses national pride and the desire for peace.
Broadcast live at 8:00 p.m. on July 26 on VTV Can Tho, the "Connecting Big Hands" TV Bridge produced by the Vietnam Television Center in the Southwest region will meet historical witnesses in the Southwest region, stringing together memories and touching stories about national reconciliation; mobilizing the strength of great solidarity in building and developing the country; attracting talent, attracting investment; the policy of merging provinces and cities is receiving public attention nationwide.
VTV also sent to the audience many meaningful and humane art exchange programs such as: "Unification Song" (broadcast on April 26 on VTV1), bringing immortal works such as: "Marching to Saigon", "The Country is Full of Joy", "Eastern Truong Son - Western Truong Son", "Radiant Vietnam"... performed by artists: Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan, Minh Duc, Time Stream Group, Oplus, Thang Long; connecting emotions of many generations with outstanding guests in many fields: People's Artist - Director Le Hung, People's Artist - Cinematographer Nguyen Huu Tuan, Poet Vu Quan Phuong, Painter Le Tri Dung, Writer Chu Lai, Musician Do Hong Quan, Journalist Tran Mai Huong... Through that, the program and the audience looked back on a journey of loss, pain, but glory and pride of the country.
"Time, Tell a Story" broadcast on April 27 on VTV3 is a colorful cultural picture, honoring the Vietnam People's Army and living witnesses of history; "Spring of Reunification" broadcast live at 8:10 p.m. on April 29 on VTV1 brings songs that have touched the hearts of generations of music lovers for more than half a century.
The highlight of the series of programs celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day are VTV Special and Documentary programs, reflecting the depth of history, human values and the spirit of reconciliation. Specifically, VTV Special "The Duel of Wills" is a true story from the perspective of Mr. Craig McNamara - son of former US Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara. His inner journey is full of conflict when facing the "legacy of war" created by his own father and the unspoken apology to the Vietnamese people.
VTV Special "Historical Broadcast" is a reminiscence about "the policy of taking over Saigon television", the story of national reconciliation through the combination of officers and employees of Saigon Television to have a historical broadcast on the evening of May 1, 1975 using the old regime's television system; the support of Saigon people at that time for Vietnam Television and the Liberation Army deeply depicts the first days of revolutionary television in the South.
"Healing" is the name of the VTV Special program about two American filmmakers: Bob Judson - a veteran who fought in the Vietnam War in 1968 and Dan Aguar - who grew up after the war. They embarked on a journey of "awakening" when they witnessed the vitality, tolerance and rising spirit of the Vietnamese people. The two filmmakers left Vietnam, bringing with them emotional footage to tell America the story of the Legacy of Peace...
50 years after the war, VTV Special "Journey to Reunification" not only mentions the pain that is gradually being healed, but also depicts the journey to find reconciliation. The film sends a strong message, rich in human values. That is the past cannot be changed, but the Vietnamese people can together continue to write the present and the future.
A series of documentaries with profound content were also introduced, such as: "Voice of Conscience" depicting the life of anti-war prisoner Eugene Wilber, a pilot and commanding officer who was shot down in Vietnam in 1969; "The Call" with a new approach when telling the story of peace lovers around the world who participated in protesting the Vietnam War with music - creating strength from the "soft weapon" of the resistance; the series of documentaries "I was born in 1975", "Saigon - The Day of Victory", "Half a Century - A Dream", "Secret Mission", "Before the Hour of Total Victory"... bring to the audience a multi-dimensional, humane view of a historical period that changed the fate of the nation.
On this occasion, Vietnam Television introduces 5 episodes of the documentary "Aspiration for Peace" produced by the Central Scientific Documentary Film Studio, vividly recreating the heroic history of the resilient Southern land throughout the struggle against foreign invaders and defending the Fatherland; selecting outstanding documentaries narrated in Southern accents, serving broadcasting on channels VTV9, VTV Can Tho...
