The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has issued a Plan to organize activities to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024), the 79th anniversary of the Saigon Uprising to seize power (August 25, 1945 - August 25, 2024) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024).
Accordingly, in late August and early September 2024, many cultural and artistic activities with special significance will take place in Ho Chi Minh City.
A special art program took place on the evening of September 2 at Nguyen Hue walking street stage, produced by the Ho Chi Minh City Light Music Center, and was broadcast live on television and radio.
The fireworks display program is chaired by the City Command in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City and related units. The fireworks display time is from 9:00 to 9:15 p.m. on September 2, including 2 locations: the high-altitude display at the beginning of the Saigon River Tunnel, Thu Thiem Ward, Thu Duc City, with 1,500 high-altitude fireworks, 30 low-altitude fireworks, and 10 pyrotechnic displays; the low-altitude display at Dam Sen Cultural Park, District 11, with 90 fireworks displays.
The program of decorating street art lights on many central streets is implemented by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City in coordination with relevant units.
