In agricultural production, people often have the habit of growing seasonal crops. Although they are easy to care for and have high productivity, the selling price of the products is low. In recent years, many households have applied new planting methods, creating many types of off-season vegetables, bringing high economic efficiency.
Tomatoes are a popular food, grown in the main season from around November to February every year. Currently, most of the tomato growing areas in household gardens have withered due to the heat. However, at Thanh Nien Thanh Sen Cooperative, Dong Mon Commune, Ha Tinh City, tomatoes grown in greenhouses are still bearing fruit, yielding an average of 200 kg of harvest per day. The current selling price of tomatoes ranges from 30,000 to 40,000 VND/kg, much higher than the price of tomatoes in the main season.

Similarly, although the main season for eggplant ends in April and bitter melon ends in December, these two fruits are still being harvested in the garden of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy in Nguyen village, Thach Lien commune, Thach Ha district. Currently, eggplant is priced at 17,000 to 20,000 VND per kg, 10,000 to 12,000 VND per kg higher than the main season. Bitter melon is priced at 20,000 to 25,000 VND per kg, 8,000 to 10,000 VND per kg higher than the main season.
Compared to the main crop, off-season vegetable production is much more difficult, especially requiring more care. However, the advantage is that the market is scarce, so it is easy to consume, the selling price is high, and growers earn much more profit than in the main crop.
According to households, it is important to choose the right tree variety for the soil and natural conditions so that the tree can grow well and produce high yields.

Obviously, changing seasonal thinking, combined with proper investment in care, off-season crops will also yield and have the same quality as main-season crops, and the selling price will be higher.

This is also a solution to avoid the situation of good harvest but low price, difficulty in finding output for products such as growing main-season vegetables and fruits.
