Many artists and actors participate in Hanoi Radio Pickleball Tournament 2025

Towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), Hanoi Radio and Television organizes the Hanoi Radio Pickleball Tournament 2025.

It is expected that about 600 athletes will compete in the following categories: Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, Mixed Doubles, including many KOLs, celebrities, actors, and artists.

Attending the press conference on May 15, actor Huynh Anh expressed his excitement when coming to this playground. Huynh Anh believes that the Tournament contributes to promoting the Pickleball training movement in Vietnam, improving community health.

“As an actor, I am very interested in keeping fit and maintaining my health. Pickleball brings moments of relaxation. This tournament is a healthy and civilized playground, an opportunity for Pickleball lovers across the country to share their passion, bond, and connect culturally,” said actor Huynh Anh.

At the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Deputy General Director, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Radio, Head of the Tournament Organizing Committee said that although this sport has just entered Vietnam, it has developed rapidly and is loved by many people, especially those working in office environments.

The rapid growth of the sport has created a strong and diverse Pickleball community, ranging from beginners to professional athletes.

“We hope that the tournament will not only bring dramatic moments on the field but also contribute to promoting sportsmanship, enhancing connection and understanding between athletes and fans. This is also an opportunity to discover potential athletes to participate in national professional tournaments,” said Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung.

Accompanying Hanoi Radio in this tournament, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Department Le Thi Hoang Yen said that currently, besides professional Pickleball tournaments with high achievements, there are also many grassroots tournaments organized with a large number of participating athletes.

“We predict that Pickleball will soon be included in tournament systems such as SEA Games, ASIAD… In anticipation of international events, we will train excellent athletes. In addition, to have excellent athletes participating in international tournaments, there must be grassroots sports, because this is the foundation for the strong development of national sports,” said Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen.

One of the issues of interest is the scoring of athletes. According to the Organizing Committee, athletes self-report their current scores and are responsible for the accuracy of the information they report. In addition, the Organizing Committee has a data system of 10,000 athletes who have participated in previous Pickleball tournaments.

For athletes who do not have a score, the Organizing Committee will support the assessment and provide written instructions for classification and self-assessment. During the tournament, if it is discovered that the athlete's score is not as declared, the Organizing Committee has the right to declare a loss, disqualify the athlete from the tournament and not refund the fee...

The Hanoi Radio Pickleball Tournament 2025 is scheduled to be drawn online on June 10. The official competition will take place on June 14-15 at the Pickleball Court Complex - Center for Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism of Cau Giay District, 35 Tran Quy Kien, Hanoi.

The total prize value of the Tournament is nearly 500 million VND. Important matches will be broadcast live on television, radio and digital platforms of Hanoi Radio./.
