On August 25, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education sent a dispatch to the Department of Higher Education - Ministry of Education and Training and many universities regarding the handling of candidates' requests to adjust their admission wishes.

This university asks other universities to consider admission.

According to this document, on August 22, the school announced the admission scores. Then the school reviewed the official admission list and found that there were cases where candidates did not meet the admission standards of the industry according to each admission method.

At this time, the virtual filtering work of the Ministry of Education and Training has been completed, so candidates cannot be considered for the next wishes.

"Considering that this was a technical error and to ensure the rights of candidates, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education proposes that the Ministry of Education and Training create conditions for candidates to continue to be considered for admission in the next wishes and requests that the university ... support the admission process for candidates' next wishes according to regulations" - the document stated.

Along with the above content is the list of candidates and their wishes to enter other universities.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online, representatives of four universities in Ho Chi Minh City confirmed that they had received this document from Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.

The reporter contacted Ho Chi Minh City University of Education to discuss and was told that there would soon be an answer to this issue.

This is not the only school that has made "technical errors". The principal of another university in Ho Chi Minh City said he also received a letter from the Foreign Trade University (Ho Chi Minh City campus) requesting to consider candidates like the Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.

"This year's admissions have many new features but are extremely confusing, making universities and candidates very tired," he said.

Regarding the admission of candidates from other universities after the admission scores have been announced, the principal of a university in Ho Chi Minh City said that the school has already met its enrollment quota and any over-enrollment will be handled by the ministry. Therefore, the school still has to wait for the opinion of the Department of Higher Education.

"This year's admissions have many shortcomings, but it is not the candidates' fault. Therefore, the school's stance is to provide maximum support to ensure the candidates' rights."

Pass in school, fail in the ministry

In recent days, many candidates have been confused by inconsistent information from the school and the Ministry of Education and Training's admission portal. Candidates said they looked up the websites of the schools they had accepted, but the ministry's general admission portal reported that they had failed.

Not only that, there are candidates who meet the standard score for higher wishes, but the general admission portal shows that the candidates failed and were admitted for lower wishes. Many wishes do not show the status of "pass" or "fail".

Tuoi Tre Online discussed all of this information with the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) on ​​August 24 and 25. We were asked to send an email to the department to respond with accurate information, but as of this morning, Tuoi Tre Online has not received a response.

In addition, this year's admissions also had many ironic incidents. A candidate had enough points to enter the first choice of psychology at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, but the school announced that he had failed, and was admitted to the fifth choice of educational psychology at the University of Education ( Hue University). A candidate contacted the University of Education (Hue University) but was informed that he had not been admitted because he had passed his first choice.

At the Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, a series of candidates looked up the admission results on the school's website. The candidates were also notified by the school to pay the admission fee. However, when looking up on the ministry's general admission portal, the candidates were not admitted. Currently, a series of candidates have filed complaints about this issue.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong - Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport - confirmed that many candidates were notified by the school to be admitted but the ministry's admission portal reported them as rejected.

"This is a technical error in the school's admission system. The school has reported to the ministry for a solution to ensure the rights of candidates. The candidates' scores are the most important legal basis," Ms. Hong added.

In the North, a candidate scored 20 points in the B00 combination and was determined to pass the third choice of nursing at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (standard score 19).

However, on the morning of August 25, when this candidate looked up the results on the general admission system, he unexpectedly failed his third choice and passed his fourth choice, the nursing major at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Thai Nguyen University.

Currently, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi said it has received the feedback and will review to ensure the rights of candidates.
