Many Vietnamese Science Journals Enter the Southeast Asia Citation Index (ACI)

Four scientific fields of the Hanoi National University Journal of Science are accepted into the Southeast Asian Citation System: Mathematics - Physics;Educational Research; Natural Sciences and Technology; Medical Sciences.

ACI is a common database system of citation index for the entire Southeast Asia region, connecting scientific research works from the National Citation Index (NCI) of member countries with prestigious scientific databases in the world such as Web of Science, Scopus. ACI was established in 2011, to date more than 73,000 articles have been included in the database.

The purpose of ACI is to collect scientific publications of member countries to share research results to the world, and at the same time act as a bridge to bring ASEAN scientific works into the ISI and Scopus databases. Therefore, ACI's selection criteria are built in a standardized manner, approaching the standards of the world's leading prestigious citation systems.

To be included in ACI, scientific journals must meet standards approaching the world's leading prestigious citation systems, including 6 round 1 standards and 9 round 2 standards such as: Persuasiveness of editorial policy; Form of closed review; Geographical diversity of editorial board members; Geographical diversity of authors; Academic contribution to the research field of the journal; Clarity in the article abstract; Quality and relevance of the article to the purpose and scope of the journal; Published on schedule as announced by the journal; Quality of the journal website, the journal website is in English and follows international standards, cited in national and international scientific databases; The journal has an online article receiving and processing system.

Previously, VNU's Journal of Advanced Components and Materials (JSAMD) was ranked by SCImago as one of the most prestigious scientific journals (Q1 group) in the fields of composite materials and magnetic, electromagnetic, and optical materials.

JSAMD is also ranked Q2 in the field of materials science and biomaterials. This is the first time a Vietnamese scientific journal has been included in the list of 25% most prestigious scientific journals.

One of the reasons for the JSAMD journal's upgrade is the 2020 Impact Factor IF (for 2019 results) recently announced by Web of Science - Clarivate. Accordingly, the 2020 Impact Factor IF of JSAMD is IF = 3.783.
