Many good ideas from the contest "Creating recycled products from plastic waste by 2025"

On October 31, at Champa Island Resort Nha Trang, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the final round of the contest "Creating recycled products from plastic waste in 2025". Leaders of departments, branches, Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, press agencies and more than 100 supporters attended the event.

Participating in the final round were 10 teams from tourism businesses and universities in the province, including: Ton Duc Thang University Branch, The Anam Cam Ranh Resort, Faculty of Tourism - Nha Trang University, Vietravel Khanh Hoa Branch, Nha Trang University, Tui Blue Nha Trang Hotel, Sea Soul Hotel, Champa Island Nha Trang Resort, Ana Mandara Cam Ranh Resort and Six Senses Ninh Van Bay Resort.

The teams competed in 2 parts: Presentation of products and answering questions from the judges. The teams brought many models and creative ideas such as: Paintings, souvenirs, plastic brooms from plastic waste, old fishing nets and shells, along with solutions to limit plastic waste such as using environmentally friendly materials instead of disposable plastic products. Outstanding products include "Recycling old fishing nets - Journey from waste to 3D printed products" by Nha Trang University; the painting "Plastic waste: The threat to ocean life" by Ana Mandara Cam Ranh; Champa Island Nha Trang tourist area with the product "Kim Ngoc Lien Hoa"...

Mr. Cung Quynh Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the contest aims to raise public awareness of environmental protection, encourage the spirit of "reduce - reuse - recycle". This is also an activity to spread the green tourism movement, tourism that is responsible to the environment and society. The products of the contest demonstrate creativity, ingenuity, turning discarded plastic items into works of aesthetic, educational and practical value. The contest opens up a new direction in combining creativity, environmental protection and sustainable tourism development.
