With approximately 82 million shares in circulation, Binh Minh Plastics Company plans to spend about VND434 billion on this dividend. Of which, BMP's largest shareholder is currently NawaPlastic Industries Co., Ltd - a subsidiary of SCG Group (Thailand) with controlling rights with nearly 55% of shares, will receive more than VND236 billion. Thai investors receive huge dividends from Vietnamese enterprises
Previously, Binh Minh Plastics spent nearly VND254 billion to pay the first dividend in 2022 to shareholders at a rate of 31%. Thus, including both periods, BMP shareholders will receive a total dividend for 2022 at a rate of up to 84%, equivalent to VND8,400 per share. Thus, Thai investors will pocket a dividend of about VND378 billion. NawaPlastic Industries has become a major shareholder of Binh Minh Plastics since the beginning of 2012 and has received high cash dividends over the past 10 years.
Similarly, Saigon Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation ( Sabeco - stock code SAB) announced that June 12 is the last day to register the list of shareholders to pay additional dividends in 2022 at a rate of 15% in cash. Sabeco will pay a total dividend of 50% in 2022, equivalent to shareholders owning 1 share receiving 5,000 VND. Currently, Sabeco's largest shareholder is Vietnam Beverage Company, a member of ThaiBev Group from Thailand, which owns nearly 54% of the company's capital and also received more than 1,700 billion VND. Since the end of 2017, when buying back shares divested from the state, this Thai investor has received regular cash dividends from Sabeco every year at a rate of 35% or more.
Or another famous Vietnamese enterprise, the dairy giant Vinamilk (stock code VNM), also regularly pays cash dividends. In 2022, Vinamilk paid a dividend of VND3,850/share. The total dividend amount for the year is VND8,046 billion. Of which, although not a controlling shareholder, F&N Dairy Investment currently holds a total of more than 20% of the capital.
