Relive your childhood with Doraemon.

In Japan, many parks and amusement areas are decorated with Doraemon characters, but there is a museum that dedicates its entire grounds and exhibition areas to showcasing this intelligent robotic cat. That is the Fujiko.F.Fujio Museum in Kanagawa Prefecture – a place where childhood memories come alive with its whimsical books and images. Named after the creator of the legendary robot cat, the first floor is the main exhibition area, featuring approximately 50,000 artifacts related to the author and the creation of the long-running series. Visitors who want to relive the excitement of flipping through the pages of the manga and admiring the cute illustrations can head to the second floor – the library. The third floor is probably the favorite for children, as it features an outdoor play area with Doraemon, charming souvenir shops, and a cafe with many pastries named after the beloved robot cat's magical gadgets.

The world of colorful polka dots

Yayoi Kusama is considered one of Japan's most successful and renowned contemporary artists. Her art style is regarded as having a continental and global influence. Using vibrant polka dot motifs, her artworks highlight humanistic themes such as anti-war, anti-patriarchy, and opposition to class exploitation. The museum named after her is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Tokyo.

Hokkaido Island has so much to explore , from its magnificent nature and colorful flowers to its delicious and beautiful pastries and impressive drinks, most notably the famous Sapporo beer. This beverage has a long history here, elevated to a flagship product of Hokkaido, and even has its own museum telling the story of its history and market development. The Sapporo Beer Museum, opened in 1987, is located in a former brewery and displays artifacts and documents related to beer and the brewing company. It's a place where visitors can learn about and sample highly-rated beer products.

The long-running saga of instant noodles.

Few places boast as many museums dedicated to instant noodles as Japan – a dish beloved by many in Asian countries. Visiting these instant noodle museums in Japan allows visitors to learn about the history of this dish and even try their hand at making noodles. First, there's the Shin-Yokohama Noodle Museum with its nostalgic style, followed by the Yokohama Noodle Museum featuring Cup Noodles, Japan's most famous instant noodle brand, and last but not least, the Osaka Ikeda Noodle Museum with its instant noodle display tunnel. After exploring and visiting these museums, don't miss the chance to experience delicious and visually appealing noodle dishes, showcasing the elevated culinary style of Japan.

A little apprehension at the parasite museum.

Fear or fascination are the contrasting emotions many visitors experience when visiting the Meguro Parasite Museum in Tokyo. In fact, beyond its museum function, it's also a research institute founded in 1953 by Dr. Satoru Kamegai. He traveled throughout Japan, visiting numerous hospitals to collect parasite specimens for scientific research. Despite its small size, the museum houses 60,000 specimens representing 1,500 species of parasites, of which only about 300 are on display to the public.

Whether showcasing visually stunning or frightening exhibits, these museums leave a lasting impression on visitors with their meticulous attention to detail in collecting and presenting information, their careful arrangements and displays, and their skillful engagement with interactive elements, ensuring each destination leaves a lasting memory during a trip to Japan.
