Student Tran Dinh Quan, majoring in Data Science and Business Analysis, University of Economics (University of Danang), Captain of the Vanguard Team of the University of Economics, expressed that every year, every night, when the international fireworks festival takes place, the team gathers members from afternoon until late at night in the areas around the stands, Tran Hung Dao Street and on the Han River Bridge... In particular, the team calls for the most members on the opening and closing nights because the number of tourists and residents is expected to increase.
Every night, the team watches fireworks displays and incorporates environmental protection messages to members and residents. After the show ends, members will clean up, collect trash, and preserve the city's landscape according to their assigned areas. The team was established nearly 17 years ago. Since then, every year, when the international fireworks festival takes place on the poetic Han River, the team plans a meeting to discuss the trash collection program and call for more volunteers. "During the collection process, my team members and I were sometimes exhausted, our shirts were soaked with sweat or our legs were tired from walking and weaving through the crowded crowd for hours, but in return, the team always received smiles, greetings, and encouragement not only from the locals but also from tourists from near and far. That is the motivation that helps me and the whole team continue to try in the past years and many years to come to spread new and positive messages. With a bigger ambition, the whole team wants to promote the image of a clean and beautiful livable city to everyone as well as tourists around the world ," Quan happily said.
With the desire to create a more neat and clean international fireworks festival space, Mr. Vo Dinh Trong, Hall of the Da Nang Trash Lovers Association, shared that in recent years, the association has not only focused on activities to protect nature and the environment but also organized trash picking activities at major programs and events of the city, especially the international fireworks festival. Through that, the association hopes that the city landscape after the programs and festivals will be neater and cleaner; at the same time, it will help the cleaners to have less hardship and fatigue. He hopes that the association's work will help people raise awareness and together spread meaningful messages about environmental protection. More importantly, the association not only collects trash but also spreads the message of classifying trash into groups of inorganic waste, organic waste and hazardous waste. Previously, members and volunteers were instructed by the association to distinguish and identify safe waste from potentially harmful waste to ensure safety.
For student Luu Ngoc Bao Thi, majoring in English Pedagogy, University of Foreign Languages (University of Danang), participating in interpreting for Ms. Nadia Shakira Wong, Director of Global 2000 Fireworks Consulting Company (the unit in charge of the fireworks teams) at the International Fireworks Festival last year left unforgettable memories. According to Thi, the days working as a collaborator interpreter for Ms. Nadia were an honor and pride, contributing a small effort to make the festival go smoothly. Through the festival, Thi not only took on the task of interpreting festival-related content but also had the opportunity to chat, exchange, and promote the image of Danang through artistic, cultural, and culinary activities... Thereby, introducing to international friends the city's specialties or beautiful landscapes. “I think not only me but also my colleagues in the translation team share the joy and pride in contributing to creating an impressive fireworks season. I hope that with the messages that have been spread, the image of the city in the eyes of tourists in particular and the people in general will be more sparkling and radiant like the fireworks in the sky,” Thi said excitedly.
It can be said that each young person like Quan, Trong and Thi is a friendly ambassador, an extended arm on the journey to make the city more impressive and unforgettable in the eyes of millions of tourists. It is expected that the 2025 International Fireworks Festival will be a success, with the great contribution of friendly ambassadors.
