Colonel Do Thanh Tam, Secretary of the Military Recruitment Board, Ministry of National Defense, said that the preliminary selection takes place at the district military command where the candidates register their permanent residence. Candidates will have their background verified and health examined in this preliminary round.
Currently, the 17 military schools are divided into two groups. The first group trains technical officers, including the Military Medical Academy, the Military Science Academy, and the Military Technical Academy.
The second group trains command, political , and logistic officers, including the remaining schools. There are different admission requirements between these two groups.
Colonel Do Thanh Tam noted: "Candidates only need to complete one preliminary application. If they pass the preliminary application, they will be considered for admission according to various methods, but must choose military schools as their first choice. The following choices can include fields and schools outside the military sector."
The representative of the Ministry of National Defense emphasized that during the registration process, candidates can adjust their preferences within a group of schools, but cannot transfer between two schools in different groups.
After being admitted, candidates will have their health checked again. (Illustration photo)
