The joy of having a cultural center.

From a place lacking recreational spaces and having cramped community centers in the past, Group 2, Quynh Lam Ward (Hoa Binh City) has received attention in building a new, spacious cultural center with complete equipment, following the principle of government support and people contributing labor and money.

As the sweltering summer heat subsides, residents of neighborhood group 2 gather at the community center to relax, participate in social activities, and exercise. Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, a senior citizen in the neighborhood, shared: "The community center is located inside the main road, ensuring a quiet and safe space, so the elderly often come here for walks and exercise. Children on summer vacation have a playground equipped with outdoor sports equipment. The most lively time is in the late afternoons, when women and young people play volleyball, both to improve their health and to strengthen community bonds."

Besides the outdoor space for community activities, Group 2 also utilizes the adjacent facilities of the ward's cultural center to attract children from within and outside the group to beneficial sports activities, creating a healthy playground. Tran Duc Phuc, from Group 6, Quynh Lam Ward, shared: "Although I live in a different group, I ride my bike here almost every afternoon to participate in the 1/6 Table Tennis Club in Hoa Binh City. When I feel tired after training, I take a walk around the cultural center grounds to relax and breathe in the fresh, clean air."

Group 2, Quynh Lam Ward, has 193 households with a total population of approximately 900 people, comprising two ethnic groups, the Muong and Kinh, living together in harmony. In accordance with Resolution No. 49/NQ-HĐND dated December 18, 2021, of the People's Council and People's Committee of the city, which approved the plan for rearranging, converting, allocating land for the construction, repair, upgrading, and expansion of village and neighborhood cultural centers by 2025, the Party Committee and local authorities have actively propagated and mobilized the entire population to agree with and support this policy. As a result, households unanimously agreed to contribute 70% of the funding, along with 30% government support, to build the community cultural center.

In March 2024, the community center in Group 2 was completed and put into use. The people in the group were delighted and joyful, with 100% of households sending representatives to celebrate at the inauguration ceremony. According to Mr. Nguyen Van Luan, Secretary of the Party branch of Group 2, in addition to the significant investment support from the State, the community center project also received contributions from officials, Party members, people from all walks of life, and a number of organizations, individuals, and philanthropists.

The community center, built with a total cost of over 800 million VND, features fairly comprehensive cultural facilities and a seating capacity of nearly 200. The facility provides a meeting place for residents, disseminating Party guidelines and policies, and promoting cultural, artistic, and sports activities. Recently, the center has hosted several memorable programs and activities, such as: a cultural exchange with the intergenerational club of Bui hamlet, Nhan Nghia commune (Lac Son); friendly men's and women's volleyball matches with Ky Son ward; and an exchange of experiences with the Veterans Association of Yen Trung commune, Yen Phong district ( Bac Ninh )...
