According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung - Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Ninh Hoa town, opening classes to teach the use of gongs and gongs of ethnic minorities aims to make these musical instruments more popular in the cultural and spiritual life of the people. Thereby, contributing to preserving the traditional cultural identity of ethnic minorities in Ninh Tay commune. This is also one of the solutions to improve the material and spiritual life of the people, especially ethnic minorities. From there, gradually build typical cultural products, associated with local tourism development, attracting and meeting the needs of tourists when coming to the town.
After 1 month of attending the class, those who are taught can use and perform gongs and gongs to serve the mass art movement and religious festivals in the community. Each student will be the core to contribute to preserving the traditional cultural values in the locality where they reside. “Ninh Tay commune has 7 villages, of which 4 villages have a large Ede population: Buon Lac, Buon Sim, Buon Tuong, Buon Dung. Every year, these villages still organize gong and gong performances to serve the people. In particular, in the first days of the new year, the villages often organize a water wharf worship ceremony lasting from 1 to 3 days and the sound of gongs resounds in each village. The town opening a gong playing class in the commune is an opportunity for the locality to have more people who know how to use the musical instruments of their ancestors. From there, it contributes to prolonging the sound of gongs and gongs in the life of the Ede people today and tomorrow”, said Mr. Y Hy - Secretary of the Party Committee of Ninh Tay commune.
