Ninh Thuan adjusts the names of communes and wards according to place names

Regarding the naming of communes and wards after the merger, Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee has agreed to adjust the names of communes and wards without adding numbers at the end as in the previous plan, but only recording the place name.

On April 25, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee signed and issued Resolution No. 36-NQ/TU of the 24th Conference of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, term XIV.

In the above Resolution, the Executive Committee of the 14th Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee resolved 3 contents, including the content of unifying the adjustment of the orientation of the names of communes and wards of the new administrative unit after the arrangement according to the report No. 43-TTr-TU dated April 25 of the Standing Committee of the Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee; Assigning the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to direct the Party Committee of the People's Council and the People's Committee of Ninh Thuan province to implement the next steps in accordance with legal regulations.

Accordingly, the names of 24 communes and wards of the new administrative unit in Ninh Thuan province after the arrangement will not have the numbers 1,2,3,4 attached to the place name according to the previous plan, such as Phan Rang 1, Phan Rang 2, Phan Rang 3 wards... but will be adjusted to be associated with the place name, historical and cultural traditions.

According to the previous plan, Vinh Hai commune merged with Thanh Hai commune and Nhon Hai commune, Ninh Hai district to form Ninh Hai 3 commune, but the Resolution of Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee agreed to adjust it to Vinh Hai commune.

In addition, Resolution No. 36-NQ/TU dated April 25 of the Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee also resolved to unify the draft project to reorganize Khanh Hoa province and Ninh Thuan province; assigned the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to direct the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee to direct the reception, synthesis of opinions and conclusions at the conference to coordinate with the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Party Committee to direct the completion of the above project. Basically agreed on the draft political report to be submitted to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term after the merger of the two provinces; assigned the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to direct the reception, synthesis of opinions and conclusions at the conference to coordinate with the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to direct the reception and supplementation of the political report to be submitted to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.

“The Provincial Party Executive Committee calls on the entire Party, people and army of Ninh Thuan province to unite, unify and strive to successfully carry out political tasks; arrange administrative units, streamline the apparatus of the political system; coordinate to prepare conditions for merging communes and wards and merging the two provinces of Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan; move towards successfully organizing the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term” – Resolution of the Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee stated.

It is known that Ninh Thuan province currently has 62 commune-level administrative units, including 12 wards, 3 towns and 47 communes. After the rearrangement, Ninh Thuan province has 24 commune-level administrative units including 19 communes and 5 wards, reaching a rate of 61.3%.
