Customs officers at Nghi Son Port check the actual import and export situation of goods at Nghi Son seaport.
After streamlining the organizational structure, Nghi Son Port Customs under the Customs Branch of Region X officially came into operation on March 15 on the basis of inheriting the functions, tasks and powers of the previous Nghi Son Port Customs Branch. With the assigned task of State management of customs in Nghi Son Economic Zone with many enterprises with large tax collection and payment, generating different taxes and being the main unit in the revenue collection of the branch, Nghi Son Port Customs has quickly started to perform the task, not allowing work to be delayed or interrupted, ensuring quick customs clearance of import and export goods.
According to Nghi Son Port Customs Captain Le Anh Tuan, in addition to solutions to facilitate trade, focusing on reforming administrative procedures, and expanding the customs-business partnership model, the unit has paid attention to supporting and guiding businesses in the management area to remove arising obstacles and promote import-export activities. At the same time, it has focused on effectively implementing electronic tax collection management, 24/7 customs clearance, and synchronously implementing solutions to improve tax management, contributing to increasing state budget revenue.
Notably, in the first months of the year, Nghi Son Port Customs has proactively coordinated with relevant units to create favorable conditions for enterprises with import-export activities in Nghi Son Economic Zone and surrounding areas, and enterprises outside the province with import-export activities through Nghi Son Port. In particular, focusing on disseminating the investment environment and investment attraction policies of the province, especially disseminating Resolution No. 248/2022/NQ-HDND of the Provincial People's Council on promulgating policies to support international and domestic sea transport vehicles; supporting enterprises transporting goods by container through Nghi Son Port. At the same time, maintaining regular dialogue conferences with enterprises to grasp and promptly and promptly resolve problems arising in the process of implementing customs procedures.
In addition, the unit has implemented synchronous, drastic and timely solutions to improve the effectiveness of monitoring and managing import and export goods and means of entry and exit. Implementing tax management well, ensuring correct and sufficient collection, no tax loss, no overdue tax debt, no difficult-to-collect debt. Actively coordinating closely with local authorities in preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud, illegal transportation of goods and other violations of the law...
With the synchronous and drastic implementation of solutions by the customs authorities, in the first 6 months of 2025, the Nghi Son seaport system received 1,062 ships and 19,293 crew members entering and exiting the country, an increase of over 6% over the same period in 2024. Nghi Son Port Customs processed procedures for 3,140 declarations of 126 enterprises. The total import-export turnover reached 4.44 billion USD. Of which, export turnover reached 0.96 billion USD, up 6.1% over the same period in 2024, including items such as wood chips, plywood, stone and stone products, cement, clinker, paper products, petrochemical refining products... Import turnover reached 3.48 billion USD, the main goods were crude oil, raw materials for production, iron and steel, scrap paper, machinery and equipment for construction of investment projects in Nghi Son Economic Zone... According to the assessment, the group of import and export goods going through customs procedures through Nghi Son seaport is stable, without many fluctuations. Most import and export enterprises operating in the management area comply well with customs laws.
From import-export turnover, in the first 6 months of the year (up to June 15), the State budget revenue of Nghi Son Port Customs reached 9,658 billion VND, reaching 55.42% of the State budget revenue target. This result accounts for the majority of the budget revenue of the entire Customs Branch of Region X with 10,816 billion VND.
Nghi Son Port Customs Captain Le Anh Tuan added: In line with the assigned functions and tasks, the unit will continue to synchronously and resolutely implement solutions to build a professional, responsible, and dynamic public service associated with the customs sector's customer service manifesto and the motto of action "Professional - Transparent - Effective". Through that, it aims to continue to create attractiveness and attract businesses in neighboring areas to register to open customs declarations at the unit, contributing to increasing the State budget revenue.
