Noi Bai ready to welcome record number of 108,000 visitors per day

According to information from Noi Bai International Airport, during the April 30 - May 1 holiday this year, the number of flights and passengers through Noi Bai International Airport is expected to increase both domestically and internationally.

Accordingly, on the peak day, the Port is expected to serve 108,000 passengers (including 44,000 international passengers and 64,000 domestic passengers), up 22% compared to normal, up 25% over the same period; 602 flights (including 277 international L/C, 325 domestic L/C), up 12% compared to normal, up 18% over the same period.

The peak day before the holiday is April 29, expected to have 7 peak hours with more than 2,000 visitors/peak hour.

The peak day after the holiday is May 4, with 3 peak hours expected with more than 2,000 passengers per peak hour. The peak hours currently do not exceed the Port's service capacity.

According to Noi Bai International Airport, in the first 4 months of the year, 4 international airlines opened new routes (Airasia Cambodia, 9 Air, Xiamen, Lucky Air), 1 domestic airline opened 3 routes connecting Hanoi with China... helping international transport volume at Noi Bai International Airport grow well and remain high in recent times with an average of more than 40 thousand passengers/day.

To serve the peak season, Noi Bai International Airport has developed a detailed plan, divided into stages and time frames, and arranged sufficient human resources, equipment, and vehicles to meet service requirements. In particular, areas with high passenger concentrations such as baggage conveyors, security checks, car parks, and access lanes are focused on allocating appropriate forces, closely coordinating with functional forces to promptly handle arising situations.

The port has also coordinated with units of the Ministry of Public Security and airlines Vietnam Airlines and VietjetAir to prepare and complete steps to use biometrics on the VNeID platform to check in for domestic flights.

"5 security checkpoints and 15 boarding gates at Terminal T1 have been equipped with facial recognition devices, helping passengers on domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air to check in faster, reduce pressure at security checkpoints and improve travel experience. The official implementation time will be announced when preparations are completed" - Noi Bai International Airport informed.

To avoid delays or missed flights, Noi Bai International Airport reminds passengers to carefully check their flight documents, ensure they are still valid, and proactively arrive two hours before departure for domestic flights and three hours for international flights; carefully read the airline's baggage regulations, do not bring prohibited items, and pay special attention to the transportation of lithium batteries.

Passengers are also advised to quickly queue up for check-in procedures after check-in, especially for domestic passengers of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air who need to have a VNeID level 2 account, update the latest version of the application and the airline's application to be able to experience airline check-in procedures using facial biometrics at security screening points and boarding gates.
