Dutch coach Erik ten Hag is not the only Man United figure who has caused a stir in public opinion by publicly criticizing both referee Anthony Taylor and the VAR referee team, considering the "men in black" the reason why Man United lost 1-3 in the big match against Arsenal.
The "change" at Man United seems to have just begun
When asked by the media about some of the personnel decisions at Man United for this match, coach Erik ten Hag confirmed that Scott McTominay was absent due to illness and Jadon Sancho was absent due to the player's "attitude" and "training performance". What Ten Hag did not expect was that shortly after, the English player himself publicly reacted violently to his statement on social media.
Message from Jadon Sancho
"Please don't believe everything you read. I will not allow people to say things that are not true. I have trained very well during the week so I believe there are reasons that I will not go into. I have been a scapegoat for a long time and that is unfair! I always want to play football with joy and contribute to the team. I respect every decision of the coaching staff and am very grateful that I get to play every week alongside great players, although it is always a challenge. I will continue to fight for this honor," Sancho wrote on his personal page.
Erik ten Hag maintains "iron fist" policy at Man United
Jadon Sancho has been on the bench for United's first three games but was not even registered against Arsenal. Speaking out about what has been weighing on his mind for so long seems to be a difficult decision for Jadon Sancho, although it could cost him dearly.
Sancho joined Man United in the summer of 2021 for £73 million but so far, the English player has never satisfied the coaching staff and fans of the team. He only contributed to 18 goals, both scoring and assisting, in his first two seasons. Last year, he played a total of 76 minutes in the Premier League, all from the bench in three matches.
Jadon Sancho is just a "shadow" of the expensive contract
This unconvincing performance, of course, could not be accepted by coach Erik ten Hag. He wanted to "push" Sancho away last summer but no team expressed interest in this disgraced star.
Since leading Man United, the 53-year-old coach has made many strong decisions with players who do not meet professional requirements or have opposing thoughts.
Sancho (and Martial) are Erik ten Hag's "purification" targets
Cristiano Ronaldo, David de Gea, Fred and many other key players have not been able to stay at Man United despite their great contributions to the team. Therefore, it is believed that with the decision to "counterattack" the coach on social media, Sancho may have to face very severe internal disciplinary action, although so far, Erik Ten Hag and the MU leadership have not had any reaction.
