Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung: "I choose to harmonize in music to be myself"

Recently, Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung performed the song Sweetness in Love. The song has simple, familiar but no less profound lyrics, making listeners feel like they are led into a space filled with emotions.

Sweetness in Love is composed by musician Nguyen Thanh Trung, arranged by musician Duc Thuy. The song is a gentle confession of a soul in love, full of poetry and purity but also not lacking in inner depth.

According to Hoang Tung, the song's harmony has a light jazz feel with many extended chromatic chords, creating an open, dreamy and pleasant sound space.

This is a clever choice by the songwriter to enhance the lyrical qualities of the lyrics and melody. This makes the song both modern and reminiscent of classic romantic jazz.

Once known for his powerful chamber voice, Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung always shows flexibility in performing many different musical genres.

Possessing a voice of chamber music, the 2003 Sao Mai Champion said he can sing in a variety of genres and styles and is often conscious of approaching new and closest things.

“I always try to approach new things, but still maintain my own identity. Some artists may change to please the audience's taste, but I choose to be moderate, not conservative, to always be myself,” he shared.

In addition to his regular job at the Voice of Vietnam Radio Station and teaching at the Military University of Culture and Arts, Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung regularly participates in art performances and creates music products with his personal mark, bringing high aesthetic value to music lovers.
