According to Page Six, Britney Spears has not seen her sons for more than a year after being criticized by the two children for their confusing behavior on social media. In the documentary TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom, producer Katie Hayes said: "By the end of the summer of 2022, the situation was so tense and bad that the children stopped responding to their mother's messages. Spears was very angry."
Sources confirmed to Page Six that the Toxic singer last saw her sons Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden, 16, in early 2022, before her wedding to boyfriend Sam Asghari.
Jayden publicly criticized Britney Spears' parenting style.
Spears' relationship with her sons had been strained before coming to a head in August 2022, with Jayden publicly criticizing the singer's parenting skills.
“I think she struggled to care for us and show us love. I don’t think she loved Preston enough. I felt bad about that,” Jayden told the Daily Mail.
Kevin Federline - Spears' ex-husband and father of her two children - said the singer's penchant for posting nude photos online made things worse.
“I tried to explain to my kids that it was just a way for me to express myself. But that didn't help much. I couldn't imagine my kids going to school and being talked about by their friends," Kevin Federline continued.
Spears' children live with their father (the singer's ex-husband) because Spears has custody.
Spears said she was upset to hear Jayden speak about her. “It breaks my heart to hear my son say I’m not a good mother. One day I’ll meet them in person and talk about this.”
After the singer targeted her children, Federline—who reportedly received $20,000 in child support from Spears—posted videos of the singer scolding her son, which were filmed without her knowledge.
After TMZ's new documentary about Britney Spears aired, Spears' husband called it a "disgusting movie." He was upset that the narrators were not in Spears' life but told things "as if they were true."
"Suddenly, after 15 years, when my wife is free, they put a 'microscope' on her and tell these stories?", Sam Asghari wrote on social media.
