In Tra On district, the industrial chicken farming model, applying high technology and biosafety, has contributed to bringing good income to people, at the same time, contributing to environmental protection and economic development in the locality.
The concentrated chicken farming model not only helps people increase their income and create stable jobs, but also contributes to environmental protection. |
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tra On district, in recent times, the district has focused on developing concentrated industry according to the model of farms and ranches, focusing on 3 main subjects: chickens, pigs, and cows. In particular, the concentrated chicken industry model has brought quite high economic efficiency to the workers.
The district currently has 29 industrial chicken farms, of which 9 are certified as avian influenza-free facilities in Thien My and Tich Thien communes. Most of the chicken farms operate as contract farms for companies. The outstanding efficiency of the model is that the avian influenza epidemic is well controlled, so the livestock are healthy, develop well, and have little loss. The average profit is 280-300 million VND/farm/batch, 30-50 million VND/batch higher than that of traditional industrial farms.
In Tich Thien commune (Tra On district), many high-tech chicken farming models have brought positive results. A typical farm was built in 2015 with an initial area of 6 hectares in Cay Gon hamlet, and has now expanded to 34 hectares. Operating in the form of contract farming, the farm has invested in an automatic system from input to output, including food, drinking water, vaccination, barn cleaning and product consumption.
The farm cooperates with Japfa Comfeed Vietnam Co., Ltd. ( Dong Nai 1 branch) to provide breeds, industrial feed and technical support. The drinking water for chickens is treated through a standard filtration system, ensuring hygiene. The care and vaccination process is carried out periodically and strictly complies with biosafety regulations. When the chickens reach the age of selling (about 75-80 days), the enterprise will come to check the quality and purchase all products.
The entire industrial chain is closed, ensuring animal hygiene and safety and environmental protection. The farms are located 1.5-2km away from residential areas and fields, with exhaust fan systems and the application of microorganisms to treat manure and wastewater on site. As a result, the surrounding living environment is not affected, ensuring the health of workers.
After more than 2 years of raising chickens for the company, Mr. Nguyen Van Doan (Tich Thien commune) said: “Each batch, I raise 19,000-20,000 chickens according to the process, ensuring the safety of the chickens, the loss rate is about 20-30%, there are automatic feeding troughs so it takes less care. This model brings stable profits (raising fee is 10,000 VND/chicken), my family has a good income. I will continue to raise and plan to expand the raising area.”
Similarly, Mr. Le Van An (Cay Gon Hamlet, Tich Thien Commune, Tra On District) said: “Every year, I raise chickens 3 times with 40,000-50,000 chickens/time. I raise chickens using biological bedding made of rice husks to help destroy waste during the raising process, especially to handle the situation of bad odors, prevent diseases and contribute to environmental protection. After deducting expenses, I still have a profit of 400-500 million VND/time.”
Currently, the chicken farms in Tich Thien create regular jobs for many workers with an average income of 6 million VND/person/month, and the farms also provide seasonal jobs for about 40 people with a salary of 5 million VND/period. This is a stable source of income that helps many households escape poverty and improve their quality of life.
According to Mr. Che Hoai Han - Vice Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Tich Thien commune, the whole commune has 37 farms and 4 industrial-scale farms. Accordingly, the high-tech chicken farming model is being maintained and expanded locally.
In recent times, people have voluntarily participated in production linkage forms suitable for each hamlet and production and business sector; farm owners, households, and cooperatives have implemented production regulations well, ensuring food safety and hygiene. "The model not only helps people increase their income, create stable jobs, but also contributes to protecting the environment and developing the socio-economy of the commune in a sustainable manner, associated with food safety criteria" - Mr. Han added.
According to Mr. Che Hoai Han, to support people in developing this model, recently the locality has coordinated with all levels, sectors and businesses to organize technical training courses on biosafety chicken farming, disease prevention and treatment, barn management, use of automatic industrial equipment, etc. Thanks to that, people have gradually approached modern technology, improved their knowledge and industrial skills.
The development of a concentrated industrial model applying high technology in Tra On district not only meets the market trend requiring quality and safe products but also contributes to the development of modern, efficient and sustainable agriculture. In the coming time, the district's agricultural sector will continue to develop concentrated industry according to the model of family farms and farms applying high technology in production. Strengthen the application of advanced industrial processes, food safety, disease safety associated with environmental protection to increase productivity, quality and efficiency. |
