The National Assembly approved the appointment of Mr. Nguyen Hong Nam, Senior Judge and Deputy Chief Justice of the High People's Court in Hanoi , as Supreme People's Court Judge.

On the afternoon of June 24, continuing the 5th Session, the National Assembly conducted personnel work, considering the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court on the appointment of Supreme People's Court Judges.
With 473/479 delegates participating in the vote in favor (equal to 95.75% of the total number of National Assembly delegates), the National Assembly passed a Resolution approving the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court on the appointment of Judge of the Supreme People's Court for Mr. Nguyen Hong Nam, Senior Judge, Deputy Chief Justice of the High People's Court in Hanoi.

Resolution of the National Assembly based on the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Law on Organization of the National Assembly No. 57/2014/QH13, amended and supplemented by a number of articles under Law No. 65/2020/QH14; Law on Organization of People's Courts No. 62/2014/QH13; Submission No. 517 dated June 20, 2023 of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court; Verification Report No. 95 dated June 22, 2023 of the Judicial Committee of the National Assembly; Minutes of vote counting dated June 24, 2023 on approval of the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court.
The Resolution takes effect from the date of approval by the National Assembly (June 24, 2023).
Mr. Nguyen Hong Nam was born in 1968, hometown: Duyen Thai commune, Thuong Tin district, Hanoi city; professional qualification: Doctor of Law. He was appointed to the position of Deputy Chief Justice of the High People's Court in Hanoi from August 1, 2021.
