On the afternoon of November 17, the People's Council of Dong Thap province, term X, 2021 - 2026, held the 5th session to carry out the process of dismissal and election of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province for the term 2021 - 2026, ensuring strictness and compliance with legal regulations.

The Provincial People's Council dismissed Mr. Tran Tri Quang from the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province for the 2021-2026 term to take on a new job assignment according to the decision of the Party Central Committee.

The People's Council of Dong Thap province introduced and elected Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai - Deputy Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term to hold the position of Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term with a voting rate of 100% of the delegates present at the meeting.

Speaking on accepting his new assignment, Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai pledged to do his best, together with the provincial leadership, direction and management according to the motto: Comprehensive - Focus - Connection - Breakthrough for sustainable development.

"According to the Resolution of the 1st Congress of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, by 2030, we strive to build Dong Thap province with fast-growing industry, pioneering in building ecological industry, modern countryside, and smart farmers.

"Make Dong Thap one of the leading developing localities in the Mekong Delta; worthy of the heroic tradition and achievements that generations of Tien Giang and Dong Thap people have built," said Mr. Ngai.

Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai, 54 years old, from Ca Mau province, has a master's degree in economic law, has held the positions of Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tran Van Thoi district, Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office, Secretary of the Nam Can District Party Committee, Secretary of the Ca Mau City Party Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province.

On November 17, the Secretariat assigned him to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term, so that the Dong Thap Provincial People's Council could elect him as Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (term 2025-2030).
