- Sir, in recent years, industrial development continues to play a leading role in economic development and growth of Binh Duong province. How do you evaluate the role of the industrial sector in the development goals of Binh Duong province?
- Industrial development is the core growth driver of the province in nearly 30 years of re-establishment in particular and the period of integration and development of the country in general. In the early stages, Binh Duong implemented "red carpet" policies to invite investors and businesses to build factories and expand production with abundant labor resources. The selection and screening of fields and industries are relatively open to attract investors, FDI enterprises as well as domestic enterprises to the province.
During the development process, provincial leaders over the years have also recognized and assessed the need to develop industry to serve economic development, ensure social security, and create jobs for the people. However, Binh Duong province has always affirmed that it does not place too much emphasis on economic development and growth at all costs. Evidence from the socio-economic development journey, over 30 years of innovation, industrial production and export continue to play a role as the driving force for economic growth in the province. The province has made strong changes in policies to attract and call for investment in fields and industries that do not pollute the environment. To realize the goal of green growth and sustainable development in the new period, Binh Duong province focuses on "rolling out the green carpet", developing green industrial parks with green factories to invite businesses interested in green production technology solutions to cooperate and invest...
- What is the reason for Binh Duong province to convince LEGO Group to invest in the factory? What is the significance of the LEGO factory in Binh Duong to realizing the province's policy on green growth and sustainable development, sir?
- With over 30 years of experience in industrial development, in terms of industrial infrastructure, Binh Duong has pioneering enterprises such as Becamex IDC, VSIP... These brands have contributed to making the province become "big names" in infrastructure development, industrial development of the Southeast region in particular and the whole country in general. In the current period, Binh Duong is building and developing 3rd generation industrial parks, which are "green industrial parks", gradually perfecting green standards, serving green production that can meet the requirements of businesses, investors...
The LEGO Group's investment in VSIP 3 Industrial Park is also the group's first project to be developed in a green, sustainable and environmentally friendly direction, carbon neutral; contributing to Vietnam's commitment to achieving the "Net Zero" goal by 2050. The factory is installed with more than 12,400 rooftop solar panels with a capacity of 7.34 MWp, estimated to produce enough electricity to supply about 1,270 households each year. The project is interested in clean energy, renewable energy will participate in the production process to create "green products" for users. The LEGO factory also applies environmentally friendly packaging measures, LEGO also aims to not create landfill waste in line with the trend of "green production" and sustainable development of the world . More valuable when coming to Binh Duong, LEGO Group also called on factories moving to Vietnam not to put profit above environmental protection.
When working with Binh Duong province, LEGO Group shared that the reason for choosing Binh Duong as the destination to build the factory is because the province's service infrastructure meets the requirements for LEGO. In addition to the synchronous infrastructure investment, Binh Duong province and LEGO Group agree on the spirit of cooperation, compliance with environmental protection standards, bringing about successful cooperation and for the goal of sustainable development.
It can be affirmed that LEGO Group building a green factory in a green industrial park in Binh Duong further affirms the vision and right direction in planning and development of the province; keeping up with the trend of environmental protection in the province's third generation industrial parks, contributing to the province's completion of the green industrial ecosystem and green production in the future.
- Sir, what will Binh Duong province do to continue attracting green manufacturers like LEGO in the coming time?
- Currently, in order to continue attracting investment, in parallel with strengthening administrative procedure reform and transparency to create favorable conditions to attract businesses interested in green production, Binh Duong is currently planning to move industrial parks from the South to the North of the province. Believing that new generation industrial parks are increasingly perfected to attract green projects, serve green production, and create environmentally friendly "green products". Along with that, Binh Duong province also invites investment in high-tech, low-energy, and labor-intensive sectors. The province will establish a concentrated technology park of 220 hectares, where a system of modern science and technology industrial parks and information technology parks will be developed. Promote the application of science and technology to highly specialized production activities in other industrial parks as well as in the entire production area of the region...
Recently, Vietnam Rubber Industry Group (VRG) signed a cooperation agreement with Becamex IDC, VSIP to create a joint venture with many capacities, experiences and strengths to promote development in many fields, including industrial infrastructure development, green industrial park development, renewable energy development... which can meet the requirements of businesses and investors in the coming time.
Thank you!
