OpenAI expands the availability of GPT-4.

On July 7th, OpenAI announced the expansion of the availability of GPT-4, the latest text generation model from this artificial intelligence research company, through its application programming interface (API).

According to the announcement, starting the afternoon of July 6th, all current OpenAI API developers with a "successful payment history" will be able to access GPT-4. The company plans to open access to new developers by the end of July, and then begin increasing the availability limit depending on computer availability.

GPT-4 is the latest version of OpenAI's language modeling system, released in March 2023. The previous version, GPT 3.5, supported ChatGPT when the chatbot launched in November 2022. GPT-4 can generate text as well as accept text and images as input into the model. GPT-4 is trained using publicly available data, including from public websites, as well as data licensed to OpenAI.
